We use a Sentinel Pro dongle (LPT) that allows our CAD/CAM software and milling machine to "mill" dental restorations. The dongle's come in preset "millings", for instance 100, 200, 300, unlimited, etc. Each milling reduces the number of millings on the dongle, etc.

Pretty simple counter.

I run the Sentinel Emulator to bypass all of this, however, my question is... is it possible to reprogram the dongle itself to the original number of millings on the counter? So if I have a donlge w/ 5 millings left, is there a way to make it 100?

It is not crucial that I have this work around to operate our machinery, but I would be curious to know how to go about doing this.

Any help or pointers to the right direction would be awesome.

Thanks

It's probably using a Counter cell which has an access code of 2 and using RNBOsproDecrement to decrement the 'mills left' counter each time one is used. You can reset the counter to any number you like with the RNBOsproOverwrite function, but it needs the write password, overwrite password 1 and overwrite password 2.

Try running a logger like Toro's to see the communication with the dongle or emulator.
