Aladdin HASP 4 emulation questions

Hello all. I am trying to get some software working at home, but I am having no luck & I have a couple questions. The software is PCDMIS by Willcoxand uses a paralell port key.

-First off, must I get the HASP passwords from an existing hardlock, or can the software be querried to see what it is looking for?

-I do have access to a hardlock for an older version of the software. Can I somehow extract the passwords from it & modify them to work with a newer version of the software with a HASP Emulator?

I have SoftKey.Solutions.HASP.Hardlock.Emulator.2007, is there any other software I will need for this job.

Sorry for all the noob questions, but I am in desperate need of this.

what is the dongle type you have BE SPECIFIC HASP OR HARDLOCK

Sorry about that, guys. The "hardlock" looks like a female to female paralell port gender changer. It looks very similar to this:

@Phantasm - Try to get log from BusTrace, haspmon32, haspLoger 1.71, sentmon 2.01 beta etc. When several or one of these logger show the logs... save it and upload the logs here. May be people will guide your dongle name. :)

I installed the emulator, but when I try to install the software it says my key has expired & this comes up...

Ok, I know you guys are big into having noobs figure out stuff for themselves. I have no problem with that at all, but let me explain my reasoning behind asking here.

It isn't out of pure lazyness, it is just this is the only time I will ever need to do this, so taking the time of trial & error to learn this skill set would not be logical. I am figureing that some of the people here are familliar with my problem & this may be a hobby of theirs, so they would not mind helping me out. I am not trying to put anyone out & I do appreciate all the help I get & have gotten.

That being said, are there any tutorials that would be specific to my needs? I have searched, but the problem is that all of this is greek to me. The only programming I have done is BASIC & VB.

Can anyone help me any further please?
