ok.. here is original install.cmd

@devcon remove root\multikey
@devcon install multikey.inf root\multikey
@pause

My MultiKey for 64bit is located at C:\MultiKey64\ (for example).
..so I've modified install.cmd like this

@C:\MultiKey64\devcon remove root\multikey
@C:\MultiKey64\devcon install C:\MultiKey64\multikey.inf root\multikey
@pause

done :)

Yawar did you run it as administrator (right mouse click > "run as administrator")?

Yawar

Yes i run install.cmd as administrator by right click .....

xone
03-09-2010, 06:39 AM
hmm.. try right click > properties and change compatibility to Win XP sp3.. I'm not on Win 7 right now so I can't check where this option is for sure..

Leolo

This is a known problem in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

When you right-click and select "run as administrator", Windows will run the CMD script under the system32 folder instead of using the current folder.

Microsoft did this in order to annoy all the people who are still using batch scripts (me included) and to try to force them and shove PowerShell down their throats.

Thankfully, there's a workaround. Add the following line as the very first line of the CMD script (you'll need to use notepad):

FOR /D %%I IN (%0) DO CD /d %%~dpI

That line changes the working directory to the current directory where the CMD is located.

Kind regards.

Hi,

foffa & xone, you're welcome :)

This one should also work (and it's shorter and easier to remember):

cd /d %~dp0

I've found it on the comments of this post:
http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/archive/2005/01/28/362565.aspx

Raymond Chen's blog is quite interesting. Lots of juicy info about Windows there...

You have to disable UAC and run Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b with the Administrator rights. Download it here. (http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=dseo)
Restart PC. Install Multikey and the reg file. Restart PC again.
To see whether Multikey is successfully installed, you can check it at the Devices And Printers. This step worked for both of me and my friend PC. If not, there is something wrong with your reg file.
For more information, you can check this thread. (http://www.reteam.org/board/showthread.php?t=2344&page=3)

lol, that step is for Multikey, not for vUSBbus.
BTW dude, what the purpose you post a vUSBbus link here?
Search for Multikey 0.18.0.3 or later and follow the step for x64.

Git

Search for Multikey 0.18.0.3 or later

Actually, if he is 64 bit, he wants MK 18.0.3 or earlier, as that was the last 64bit version.

I have a big problem installing multikey 0.18.0.3 on my 64bit system. I get the following error:

The system is in test mode and I signed the multikey.sys with dseo13b.

Can someone confirm the correct version of the multikey.inf file:

trasolamo, are you sure you are in test mode? How do you know that?
Go to Device manager, right click Multikey and choose Uninstall. Mark the checkbox "Delete driver from system" there. After you uninstall and delete MK make sure that MultiKey.sys is signed. Check its Digital Signature tab. Now install it again.
By the way try to turn UAC off. Also try to run install.exe as administrator. Hope it helps.

Thank you for the reply guys,

the fact is I have two systems one notebook with WIN7 32bit (Home Premium) on it and I installed mk0.18.0.3 on it using the well described steps in this board. It worked out fine in Windows TEST MODE. Afterwards I turned the TEST MODE OFF and REBOOT the 32bit system. With the test mode disabled it works fine, there are two sentinels working:
http://www.freeimagehosting.net/3d7fd

NOW I would like to have that on my 64bit system (WIN7 Ultimate),
It worked fine in TEST MODE ENABLED following this:http://www.reteam.org/board/showpost.php?p=15392&postcount=9

Like I showed before in my WIN7 32bit the emulator mk is working with disabled TEST MODE, nevertheless when I switch the TEST MODE off in 64bit the driver comes with error 52 code.

Why do we have that differences?

2nd question: Having the TEST MODE enabled permanently is bad for my 64bit system? (vunerable)

thanks in advance!

Dear Litmanen,

I did all the steps as per your guide but when I right click on multikey.sys property -> Driver, I found Digital Signer : Not digitally signed.

May I know what's wrong?

Thanks

I think You should have the test mode enabled (You see a water mark on the bottom right corner of your desktop) AND sign the driver (using dseo13b)

Do You guys have a explication for the different behavoir of the same emulation in 32bit and 64 bit?

Hi

I have attached X64 version of Mk 18.1 and 2.4. Last one I don't know if you need to register, to pay for.

Please run Dseo12.exe and enable TEST MODE because Win 7 X64 needs drivers to be digitally signed and they won't install. Please read this forum for more info's.

i too have a similar problem.
i normaly use vUSB for my virtual 32 machines running winxp.
now i need to run it on a real win 2008 r2 server, but there is no sentinel dongle device installed after i make all the steps.

the multikey.sys in the drivers folder is signed, the device seems ok in the device manager, the reg file is imported in the registry (changed a few things as per instructions, from the vusb reg file)

but with vusb as soon as i install it, a "new device found" pops up and installs the sentinel drivers, here with multikey nothing happens.
any ideas?

Hi all dear members , I have facing other problem that multikey are install in Win 7 64 bit successary , but I went to Device manager , the system devices there are yellow exclamation mark , it show windows can’t verify the digital signature (Code 52) . And it always happened.
The second problem is that if I want to run software , I always must restart my computer , and when I reboot my win7 , I must press F8 and choose “disable driver signature enforcement” , then come in the OS is show the system devices yellow exclamation mark disappeared . and the software can run for fine.
Can not resolve restart computer when I want to run the software every time? And the system devices there are yellow exclamation mark problem.

If u get devcon failed after all 64 bit procedure done just add following in start of install.bat
cd /d %~dp0
If u get yellow exclaimation mark install dongle drivers

I am sorry.
I don’t understand your mean.
My mean is I can run the softwart, but every time when I run the software before, I must restart my computer and press F8 to choose “disable driver signature enforcement”.
This is the first problem. It’s not convenient for user.
The second problem is at device manager , the system devices there are yellow exclamation mark , it show windows can’t verify the digital signature (Code 52) . And it always happened. How can I disappear it ?

ianlcc, use DSEO to turn Windows into test mode permanently. Then you don`t need to press F8 each time.

Excuse me , your suggest is use “Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b” to do it.
Before I install the driver, I have use the “Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b”“Enable Test Mode” button.
But after this step, when I will run the software, I must restart my computer and press F8.
Another I had found a question, that when I use the “Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b”, I don’t type :” C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ multikey.sys”
I just type : ” C:\ multikey 64\ multikey.sys”
Do I type wrong step?

Excuse me , I think I give you wrong message.
I said I had use the “Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b”“Enable Test Mode” button.
Then I install the Multikey success.
But in the Device manager , the system devices there are yellow exclamation mark, and if I want to run the software, I must reboot and press F8 and choose “disable driver signature enforcement” into the OS and it can run the software.
My question is I don't want to reboot and press F8, and quick to run software.I don't want to use the step.
And if I use “Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b” and choose the ”“Enable Test Mode” button, and reboot . I know I can use the software.But in the screen right-down , it appear the TEST-MODE.
Can I not use the normal situation to run my software?
That my main question.

YOU HAVE NO CHOICE. No one asks what you want. Accept it.
Already asked here 1 million times and you get always the same answer.

Or you pay 200$ a year to microsoft and digital sign this driver with a working certificate.

And the test Mode just means, that you can install unsigned drivers. Got nothing to do how Windows 7 works. There is a tool to remove that Test Mode screen.
