Hello,
I recently tried SENTEMUL2007 for a parallel port dongle and W2K native. That seems to be working quite well. However, when I tried using SENTEMUL2007 in VirtualBox, it hangs the VM fairly quickly. Can someone recommend a different emulator?

A newer version of Sentinel's driver fixed the problem with VBox locking up. So sentemul2007 works ok in both environments.
I also tried vusb. That worked native, but not virtual. The driver wouldn't start when in VBox. Perhaps because there isn't any USB hardware?
And I tried multikey, versions 18.0.3, 18.2.2, and 18.2.3. I could install 18.0.3, and the driver looked fine, but it failed to supply the dongle data to the application. I couldn't install either of the newer versions of multikey. They reported that devcon was not a windows application. There seems to be some confusion about the exact format of the registry file for multikey, so I tried at least two variations. The first one I tried matched the format of the appropriate example file. But none worked.
I've no idea why the newer versions of multikey won't install. Add I suspect the failure of the older version is because it wasn't finding the necessary data in the registry.
