HELP Authorization codes generated from hardware ID

I use a program for GPS surveying called pocket 3D. It is made by a company called Topcon. They are a relatively obscure company which has made finding any helpful info in this regard difficult... thats why I came to the Pro's :) When you run the software for the first time after install, it asks you for two authorization codes, both based on your computers hardware id. You usually email your hardware id to the company and then receive your two separate codes momentarily. I can provide a copy of the software to anyone interested in a challenge :) any tips on hardware id serial generation would also be appreciated!! Thank you in advance!
