View Full Version : LPT SSP dongle

I have successfully used most of the emulators that i was able to acquire from shares of good people from this forum. all of these emulators used sentinel.sys, which i think is used for winNT/XP system and for USB dongles only ( i think).

I was hoping that someone from this forum would be able to share their know-how on how to emulate LPT dongle like what we do for USB dongle using sentemul2007, vUSB, sentemu by UCL and of course, not the least, TORO.

I never had success using sentemul2003 and 2004 and UCL sentemu with original sentemu.sys.

All of the emulators you mention will emulate a parallel port dongle just fine. Are you sure the dongle is a SuperPro and not a Super or older?

BTW, sentinel.sys does drive parallel port dongles and some USB dongles. It is sntnlusb.sys that drives USB only dongles.

the software was shipped year 1998 with the LPT dongle. do you think the above emulators would be able to emulate the dongle?

thank you Bfox. I can prepare ssp file using f1_nodongle shared by CEngineer and as for the reg key.. i can also prepare them using samples that are provided in the emulator.

what i need is an emulator that can support old SSP.

once again i would like to thank you Bfox. I'll give it a try as soon as i reach home. by the way.. i suspect that you have a solution on sentEmul2003 and sentEmul2006. could you share the method?

the security algo for sentemul2003/2004 is same...
but it was change on sentemul2006, right BfoX?

algo is algo...
one for sentinel pro,
one for sentinel superpro,
one for sentinel ultrapro.
and it different algo for.

sentemul2k is different realizations :) some algo

correct me if im wrong.. but isn't it that the emulator driver that came from UCL was sentemu.sys and not sentinel.sys? emulator from UCL uses original sentinel.sys from rainbow.

in any case.. do you have method so we could use UCL's original driver? i am using the patch version 2.21. i also have a copy of 2.19 but i have no success using it. when i load 2.19, getID will tell me that emulator is running.. but my software is telling me that hardware is not connected. when i load 2.21, getID will tell me that emulator is not running.. but my software will run properly - meaning dongle is found.

at first i was just want to use the software.. now, i dnt use the software but rather i am trying to learn more about emulators and how to use them properly.

and i thank people like you, meteO and CEngineer for providing the very useful information. and i thank this forum for providing source of knowledge. More Power to RETEAM.org:D

yes, sure. UCL's named as sentemu.sys and it filter for original sentinel.sys from rainbow.

about UCL's original driver - you can have emule for table emulation, not full. MeteO release table v2.20 and full also.

i do have a working copy of UCL's table based emulator and have tried it with the old program I found which requires an LPT dongle. and sad to say that it didn't worked.

I did try it with sentinel ver4.1 but it did not work with the old version of the software. It did work with the new version of software.

Send you older emulator file and sentdos.sys with pm. Older progs needs sentdos.sys. Copy sentdos.sys in system32 directory and insert line DEVICE=%SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\SENTDOS.SYS in config.nt
