Getting the compiler which produced the PE exe file

Hi,
For some reasons I needs to know the compiler type (gcc, cl, bcc, etc) which produced the given executable file ( in the PE Format) by just analyzing the executable file. Can anybody please give a hint for getting the compiler type by just analyzing the given PE executable file?

Did you try PEiD ?
