last week I purchased one software which uses the "USB Mass Storage Device" as its hardware lock. When I insert the USB lock, the Windows XP detects its as a mass storage device instead of some hardlock of hasp or Sentinel etc..etc..
Any idea or comments on emulating this "USB mass Storage Device".
That is one of driveless dongle type. Author who protected that application use standard USB Flash Memory with a tool, I also have one like you, and not luck to emulate that dongle.

If that way is possible, that protection is ZERO and everybody thought about that way and developer is not stupid that have not thought that issue :-)

I tried to make a backup with winimage from a Kingston 512mb stick without success.
I think the problem are the USB-ID/Serial# from stick.

Try to Trace Usb with BusTrace and catch ID-Serial.
Then use Image Mounting softwares for Mounting image and Edit ID-Serial
Manually.
