How to unpack a .mdu file ???

I want to unpack a .mdu file, it contains models which I want to use for something else, but i don't know how to unpack the file..

I hope someone can help me.

The .mdu file that i try to open / unpack , is a file from the game, the lord of the rings: the fellowship of the ring.

If anyone knows how to open this file or something equal, please help me.
