On internet computers in schools, who buys into this crap. Being computer literate is more than knowing how to surf the net, any moron can learn do that in a couple of minutes. Any moron can fill their cars with gas (petrol), but it doesn't make them a mechanic does it! The crux of the problem is that the teachers aren't trained in the technology, so the school districts throw hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy equipment, but doesn't train the teachers. We're not talking about teaching them Surfing and WordPerfect, we're talking about Computer Science, logical thinking, understanding basic programming concepts, sequencing, breaking problems down into logical steps, debugging, organized thinking and trouble shooting. Skills that can be applied in the real world to real tasks (and not just in computing), employers don't want surfers, they want thinkers!
