80 Year Old Kills Home Invader With Handgun

80 year old great grandmother Barb Moles shot 4 times at home invader who was attempting to murder her husband. She scored 3 hits killing him dead.

The .38 revolver she used was a Christmas present from her husband whose life she saved. Merry Christmas Barb and nice shooting.

.38S+W is a good round. A revolver is a solid choice as well, especially for a lady or for those unfamiliar/uncomfortable with firearms. No jams and no shell casings lying around for the detectives to find.

There was a time when I didn't think much of revolvers. I now realize they have many advantages. 158 grain weight hollow point makes things dead!

It's the old FBI load, and still the best choice in that caliber.

I'm guessing they went with semi wadcutter out of over penetration concerns. Good round for sure.

Lead Semi-Wadcutter Hollow Point. The +P pressure, combined with the soft lead, deliver decent expansion and penetration. Federal still makes this loading.

I have a bunch of the flat nose and round nose .38s. Some of them are pretty old. Not sure the grain weight on them but they make a mess out of things and ring the steel nicely.

Mrs. Moles said she felt "sorry" for the perp's family. Well and good.

I would like to have heard her say, "But I don't feel sorry for that dead fucker, though".
