A Private Message Function?

It might be nice to have a private message function, so that forum members can send messages to other users that they don't want aired publically. Perhaps there already is one and I'm just missing it. Just a thought, thanks for considering it, and for any offered help.

Click on my name. Click on the blue "message" icon on the right with the icon. Send the message. Done.

You can even invite more people to the private chat. BBS has a lot of functionality.

Hmm, it's strange, but I'm not seeing it. I'll try on my laptop and report back.

Try sending me one, and maybe I can reply?

It could also be an early member restriction, I'm a long time reader and lurker (measured in years), but I only joined the forum recently.

Just click on my name and then the reply in blue and it should say private message

You are still listed as "Basic", you need to obtain "Member" status to PM.

I also am having issues seeing a blue message thing. But I have gotten PM'ed in the past.

It's not technically private if you invite someone and then they can invite others. Private would be you can invite one or multiple, one time only, and then that's it.

With invitees having ability to invite others, and thread starter having that ability too, there is no such thing as a private message function on this site currently.

You can say one thing between you and another, you check the thread later and others have been subsequently invited and can see everything that has been said.

From what I have subsequently learned, this seems to be the case. Thanks for articulating it so clearly. You are correct.
