*ancient alchemy secret/man transform 200l of water into 200l of bavarian wheat beer/OMG/Anglin+GF nude pics included/OMG* UPDATE 1 bottling FINAL UPDATE FIRST POUR
Heat water in a pot to a bubbling boil, pour in honey, bubble it for 3-5 minutes, let it cool down until it is like bath water temperature, then throw in your yeast, stir gently until you break up the clumps, then pour it into a fermenting vessel. In a couple of weeks, rack and drink.
Sounds like my kind of wheat beer. I'll have to try making one soon before the summer is over. Cheers!
I hate the idea of plastic containers but the beer looks beautiful.
I do cider and mead myself.
Love seeing bros making their own beer.
Nice
My God, that looks wonderful. The head on that pour is amazing.
If you can see through the cup, it's not beer. The benefits of unfiltered, natural production at work. Thanks for sharing all the pics.
its only for the sake of praticality, if i had 100 growler i would use them but cleaning and storing 600 little beer bottle is simply not feasable for me, thanks for passing by!
its delicious too, im quite happy that once conditioned my caramel malt have step down 2 notch and balanced out very well.
ah yeah for the head its extremly foamy, and because ive made it 75% wheat there is tons of protein in there so the foam build up nice but it also stay there, its the tight knitted kind of foam
Looks like the kind of beer you could really chew on (I'm used to Belgian and Flemish styles heavy on the lees from my beer days, but also German hefeweizens as well - so that would be right up my alley). Enjoy! Nothing like the fruits of some labour and time. Reminds me, personally, why whites build and do the things we do. Or once did, as a people.
Haha, wow, that's a ghetto setup. I'm surprised it turned out so well. That's not much hops for such a large batch. I'm also surprised that you could get decent carbonation from open 2L bottles. Cool project.
what you mean by open? they seal perfect when you close them...they sell beer in pet bottles in europe no problem at all.
not thats not much hops but it was a 17.5% AA so make X 4 for the quantity i would had pit of multi purpose hops. taurus is a pure bittering hops. the batch is 15 ibu its the norm for the style.
well ive been brewing like that for years lol =D
Great job,and thank you for a fantastic discussion on a useful and interesting subject!
thank you all for your good words...another project is already in the making. it will be the project for the grand opening of the tavern =)
That beer looks like it was made well, it's making me want a beer now. I know you made a large batch, how long do you think it'll last for you? Cheers!
6 months/ 1 years it depend im not alone on it and sometime i used to give alot away(not so much now)
I mean reusing ones that were already open. Didn't think they could get enough seal.
The setup is pretty ingenious really. Never thought about using a food grade drum for a fermenter, but it makes a lot of sense. The beer looked like it turned out true to style as well. And all for a fraction of what it would cost with the usual home brew ingredients and equipment.Wish I could try some!
