I enjoyed that anime, do you know more of that kind? I have never known the name of the genre or if it has one.

The genre is called Slice of Life, and there's lots of them around . I can't think of one exactly like Barakamon, but I would recommend you look at Azumanga Daioh, Hanasaku Iroha, Honey and Clover, K-ON!, Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! , Usagi Drop, Nichijou, Silver Spoon and Tokyo: Magnitude 8.0 .

Thanks! I will look into those, Its been a while since I watched my last anime. I like the quality of the new things, a lot more polished than what I saw when I was a kid. =)

Princess mononoke is a great anime. Dismemberements, disgusting slimy creatures, androgynous yet badass hero, natives dispossessed by superior peoples carrying steel weapons...
Too much female empowerement maybe.
