Are the Northern Countries Compassionate? Logic vs. Barbarism

#21

Mercy to the enemy is cruelty towards oneself.
- Karl Von Clausewitz

The enemies of the White race have no weapon against us other than our misplaced-mercy.

Mercy and charity are only properly placed when given to fellow Whites.

Milk and bananas fed to a serpent will only make the serpent's venom more potent.
- Chanakya pandita who expelled Alexander the Great

Yet the gist of the article states that this so-called "compassion" isn't truly genuine, but a mimicry of it by leftist sociopaths. Maybe you misunderstood that part. I haven't bought into the white altruism meme for a long time either. It's just virtue signaling by fatuous robotic northern euros going along to get along.

#23

Ja, ja, He's rather dubious.

Virtue signaling to win acceptance certainly is wide-spread. But there are also genuinely (if perversely) altruistic types. The two classes aren't mutually exclusive.

In fact, I'd say we have three or four classes or types all operating under the altruism umbrella:

  1. Cynical enemies of the White race, who use altruistic verbiage to slip White countries a poison pill. Many Jews are in this category. Here also is your political elite of the US and Europe. Great example of Group 1: George Soros.

  2. Social-status seeking Virtue Signalers. These people are trying to be holier than thou by championing Left "Progressive" causes. These are most of your pop stars, celebrities, Twitter users, college campus "demonstrators", etc. It's all about their narcissistic need to be seen as champions of the good and protectors of the downtrodden. Very useful to Group 1 as "pied-pipers", leading their followers to doom; but too absorbed in their own images to realize the detrimental effect they have on society.

  3. Genuine (misguided) altruists. These are your sincere SJWs; often Vegans; they believe in being "eco-responsible", being very sympathetic to the "less fortunate", they're genuinely worried about "Climate Change"; they genuinely believe, or try very hard to, in equality of all races. These folks actually believe that if everyone just sat down and talked openly and with empathy, most if not all World Problems could be solved. Many of these folks are Bernie supporters. They are the modern equivalent of "hippies", and they smile a lot. Lots of women (girls) in this group. They are usually very naïve idealists. They are mainly dangerous because they make very good tools in the hands of Group 1.

  4. Self-hating white people. They pretend to be "for" BlackLivesMatter, but they really just resent successful and prosperous White people; they loathe almost everyone, including themselves, but cloak the hatred as "justifiable anger" or outrage at an unfair society. Here is your AIDS Skrillex, your spitters, your angry and miserable, and even a portion of the mentally-ill. Here are the feminists, who unlike those in Group 3, never smile, unless it's in sarcasm or irony. These folks are largely noxious, even to themselves. Still useful for Group 1 though!

Yes, it is a mistake to assume this is simply "misguided compassion" or altruism. That is the whole point of examining the phenomenon deeper.

Virtue signaling, perhaps is another word for the mimicking behavior.

I have seen this because I have been to both places. Genuine hardcore marxists certainty are like this in any country. But there is a difference in your average left leaning citizen. The Norwegian journalist was not a hardcore Marxist, if he was it would have been impossible even to have such a conversation with him.

Most Greek average leftists even would not be honest enough to have such a conversation, usually they will outright lie or change the subject, or scream "fascist" at you.

Dutch, Norwegians etc will not get so emotional, most of them will sit there and try to explain to you why they are doing the "moral" thing.

#27

I wanna visit Greece again. I wonder if Athens is still a safe city. :pensive:

#28

Even on your list, the genuine altruists are only 1 of 4. I'd argue that these are in reality a very small minority, as I don't believe that genuine altruism is what is ultimately our achilles heel. That's my take anyhow.

#29

In northern Europe schools are "better" they say. Brainwashing is more effective.
People, in the north of Europe, think they are being logical and reasonable, but actually they talk nonsense and don't even know it.
Greeks have a more spontaneous reaction to things. I get your point and I agree.

#30

Does not matter how good the schools are, the Greeks are just by their nature more suspicious, less likely to believe what they are told. The Nordic view of teachers and authority is that they must be correct "because if they weren't, they wouldn't be in a position of authority."

It is just a very different mentality.

#31

Pathological altruism more like it. Great article, going to share it.

#32

Compassion is only such when it is a personal choice. A state cannot have compassion because a state cannot feel. Only people can feel. Unless everyone in the state feels the same way ( impossible in practice) then when a state acts with "compassion" it is acting against the wishes of some of its people. Using their taxes, causing them inconvenience, etc. Giving help to some people after taking resources from others without their consent is not compassion, its socialism, and therein lies the problem.

#33

That's actually a healthier attitude, I mean the fact that the Greeks are suspicious.
Though sometimes it can result in obsessive doubting.
On the other hand, accepting everything people say is per se the definition of being brainwashed.
In northern Europe one tends to rely very much on schools to "educate" people on
what is morally right and wrong.
The result is very demoralising as far our cause goes.
In Greece the Golden Dawn profits from the fact that people there have retained some of their innate capability to think independently.

#34

I've about come to the conclusion that the more a "State" (thru it's "leaders") talks about "compassion", the more dangerous that State is, particularly to personal freedom.

Compassion is a small part of what makes societies function. "Respect" is far more valuable, and more durable.

As you say, a "State" cannot feel compassion, but the concept makes a great smoke screen for social engineering, wealth redistribution, and emotional manipulation of the subject populace. Hence why the "leaders" love to talk so much about it.

#35

Great article.
The question isn't if you are compassionate or not, it is who are you compassionate towards. Compassion for one group can be cruelty to another.

#36
