The Democrats are investigating and potentially prosecuting Musk – probably rightly – for lying about his self-driving cars and getting many people killed. So he needs Republicans to win so he can have politicians say the whole thing was political.
Elon Musk plans to donate around $45 million per month to a new political group backing ex-President Donald Trump in the 2024 election, according to a report.
The Tesla boss — who fully endorsed Trump in the wake of the weekend assassination attempt — is one of several tech moguls contributing to the America PAC, sources told the Wall Street Journal.
The group is reportedly focused on rallying support for Trump in swing states to counter ground covered by the Democrats through “get out the vote” campaigns, the newspaper reported.
Other backers include Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, former US ambassador to Canada Kelly Craft and her husband, Joe Craft, the chief executive of coal producer Alliance Resource Partners, the outlet reported.
Maybe Trump will throw some bones to the tech industry. I’m sure he’ll keep the blockade on Chinese EVs, which is the only reason that Tesla still exists as a company.
