This is a thread dedicated too architecture.Let's kick things off with a tribute to the one of best artists in history who had some interesting takes on architecture.
"In the 19th Century our cities began to lose the character of cultural centers and became simply human settlements.
When Munich was a city of 60,000, it wanted to be one of the major German centers of culture. Today nearly every industrial city claims this honor, usually without being able to show any significant accomplishments of its own. They are nothing more than collections of houses and apartment buildings. How can such an insignificant place have any appeal? No one will have particular loyalty to a city that lacks any individuality at all, that avoids anything resembling art.
Even the big cities are becoming poorer in real works of art even as they increase in population.
The modern era has done nothing to increase the cultural level of our big cities. All the glory and treasures of our cities are the inheritance of the past."
Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf

Lets discuss the built environment being a political medium that indicates the health of a society.

Great idea for a thread.
Personally, I like different forms of Polish architecture. It feels delightfully native to the Roman Catholic parts of Eastern Europe, where it complements the beautiful scenery.
Here are some examples that I selected:
1. The Basilica of the Birth of the Holy Virgin Mary in Chełm:

Quote:Our modern worship of empty ideals is ludicrous. What does the condition of the rabble matter? All we need do is to keep it as quiet as we can. What is more important, is to perpetuate those things of beauty which are of real value because involving actual sense-impressions rather than vapid theories. "Equality" is a joke -- but a great abbey or cathedral, covered with moss, is a poignant reality. If it is for us to safeguard and preserve the conditions which produce great abbeys, and palaces, and picturesque walled town, and vivid sky-lines of steeples and domes, and luxurious tapestries, and fascinating books, paintings and statuary, and colossal organs and noble music, and dramatic deeds on embattled fields -- these are all there is of life: take them away and we have nothing which a man of taste or spirit would care to live for. Take them away and our poets have nothing to sing -- our dreamers have nothing to dream about. The blood of a million men is well shed in producing one glorious legend which thrills posterity and it is not at all important why it was shed.

I was arguing with a guy the other day about the virtue of old plaster in historic houses. Sure it's wobbly, rarely square, uneven, crumbly, and patched, but it's got a history and handiwork, it's got presence that drywall will never have. He said the best thing to do is just rip it all out and put in drywall. I told him if you want to live in a drywall box, buy a new house, don't tear out the fabric of an old home.

Its a shame he didn't give more critiques about the pitfalls facing modern architecture from a cultural standpoint.

Those well adorned cathedrals you've posted from Poland were the result of a different design criteria too a time when ecclesiastical architecture fueled by faith led to men discovering new ways to adorn their Churches in the service too the lord.
Unlike modern contemporary architecture which is the result of a series of construction deals funded by hebraic usury from big banks, designed by subversive architects taught by (((merchant))) controlled academia which yields in either hazardously fabricated amalgamations of glass, cement and steel or uninspiring buildings with very little attention too detail past symbols meant to spiritually cripple us.

Great thread. I love me some art deco, but it is getting late, maybe il post some cool buildings later.
Also a fan of furniture from that era as well as MCM. My house looks like a throwback to a diff era in the inside, its all MCM and waterfall(art deco) style old school american furnishings(and a few european things). It surprises people when I let them in. I may be a little thuggish, but im not uncultured (or a fag... I think cap merica has a man crush on me tho.. I got my own personal hater, its cute). Most people these days dont appreciate nothing. Im only here once, I like having nice things. Most of the stuff I saved from unappreciative kids who didnt like grandpas "old junk". Stuff is better built to usually compare to the crap you can get now. Makes no sense to blow money on chinese junk that will never have any value and that you could never resell.

It is actually a skyscraper, and is only called a palace.
Its architectural style is usually referred to as socialist classicism, which itself is rooted in the so-called socialist realism. That style is often perceived as a variation of art deco. For a few decades, it was very popular in the Soviet Union and later also throughout the entire Soviet bloc (particularly during Stalin's reign).
The right in Poland isn't generally fond of the Palace of Culture, as it is associated with the period of Soviet domination in the country, and there have been numerous calls to demolish the building after the fall of communism. I would be against demolishing it, because: first, it is part of Polish history, and second, it is not that bad of a building, especially when compared to modern architectural monstrosities.
The Palace of Culture:
For comparison, here's a hotel building in the same style in Moscow:
And below is a graphical representation of the Lighthouse of Alexandria, i.e., the Alexandrian Pharos:

The previous patriarchal seat is believed to have been in Preslav. I believe it is for this reason that both of these cities are now officially designated great (i.e., Veliki Preslav and Veliko Tarnovo, respectively).
Here is something related which I think will fit well in this thread, an artistic representation of Tsar Simeon's court in the capital city of Preslav (from Alfons Mucha's Slavonic Epic):

Although the so-called Wailing Wall at the end doesn't really fit with the rest, because it is the remnants of an ancient Roman fortress.

Just wanted to say that everything is genetic, idea people are a cope (revisited this after listening to Joseph Bronski). An interesting example of this is Sagrada Familia.

You san see that this is something like Gothic mixed with a degenerate candle-stick-type sui generis (original) style. Yes, it's novel or whatever, but it is evidence of mutational load in the architect himself.
![[Image: Antoni-Gaudi-1878.jpg]](https://i.ibb.co/d5J1h46/Antoni-Gaudi-1878.jpg)
Antoni Gaudi looks mixed. That's why his magnum opus is mixed. Compare this to the Cathedral of Cologne.

It was overseen by the master mason Meister Gerard. Because this was 1248, we probably don't have a painting of him, but he looked roughly like this.

Everything sucks nowadays because of mutational load. Bronski doesn't think that gene editing/embryo selection will fix everything, probably because the retards would use it to lord over the dark elves. In reality, we just need good, old-fashioned good breeding and allopatric speciation.
