A western Pennsylvania couple who were shot at a suburban Pittsburgh mall are suing the mall’s owners, claiming they ignored warnings about increased violence and gang activity.

Seventeen-year-old Tarod Thornhill, of Penn Hills, is accused of shooting three people in Macy’s at the Monroeville Mall about 15 miles east of Pittsburgh on Feb. 7.

Forty-nine-year-old Tom Singleton and his 48-year-old wife, Mary Grace, were among the victims. They’re suing CBL and Associates Properties, which owns Monroeville Mall, and Macy’s Retail Holdings.
