I've seen a program/documentary/movie on PBS here in Austin that included footage of those pigs, as they were being scorched and were squealing. I suppose it could have been faked, but it looked real enough. The pigs were in box-cages. The idea was that the thermal radiation (not to mention gamma, x-ray, etc.!) got there and fried them to varying degrees before the shock wave. The show was titled (if memory serves) "Dark Circle" and was vigorously anti-nuke -- thus the carnage was intended to disgust the viewer. Another interesting thing I seem to recall in the film is jabs it made at some corporations it said were involved in the production of nuclear weapons, etc. I'm pretty sure it included G.E., along with their slogan ("We bring good things to life."). I think it did the same with Westinghouse and some other companies. -- ecannon@mail.utexas.edu Jun 15 02:47:17 1995
