He cites two articles as examples... Scientific American, March 1981: an article here by Douglas Hosteader (spelling?) tells of Mr. Rubik as a teacher of Architect and Design at school for commercial artists in Budapest (Hungary). He is also referred to as Hungarian in the following article: Wall Street Journal Wednesday, September 23, 1981 (front page article) I don't have the text of either of these articles in front of me. They were read over the phone to me. I suppose I could ask my source for copies if really needed but I prefer not to hassle him. He's has stacks of information on Rubik's Cube and these are just two examples. The spelling of names above might be incorrect because I didn't ask him for spellings from the articles in all cases. Rubik's Cube (in another article, source unknown) is referred to as the "Hot-selling Hungarian Horror" or "magic cube" = Büvös Kocka (in Hungarian) (Just in case the accents are messed up, they were described to me as follows. Buvos Kocka. Over the first "u" is not actually two little dots, but, instead, two little slashes (like a quotation mark). Just above the first "o" in Buvos are two little dots. No accents in the second word.) Brad
