I've read the Rats too.  You are one of the most consistant and reliable
writers on the net.  You have a way of bringing the material across
just as if you were here in my office.  I never understood the skill
of bringing the spoken word to print until I saw Hunter S Thompson
speak and I realized that he didn't 'write that way', he talked that
way.  So I have the feeling that I am hearing you speak when you write.
Now I don't know if you'd take allusions to HST as a compliment, you might 
not.  But it was.

Now about your position as Directeur... The entire form letter is a
classic and I plan to post a copy in my office at work. 
It's strange that in a newsgroup like this, that is entirely text
oriented, so many people find it difficult to communicate in that
format.
