The following ispart of the forward from my upcomming book. You may
wish to read it to give you some insight on my feelings of the
Profession. All typos are mine since I haven't had time to convert
the files.
--------------------------

This book is dedicated to the women and men in the private sector,
who provide competent protective services without benefit of a local
or national intelligence network, and at a fraction of the budget of
the government sector.

Most text I have read during the course of research for this book were
written by former government PSA's <for> other's involved in the
protection of public sector figures.

This book is dedicated to the Private Sector PSA's, and the people
who wish to enter this fast-paced, grueling world of providing
<professional> protective services. I encourage you to use this text
as a starting point for your own lifelong learning about the art. I have
personally spent thousands upon thousands of hours researching
the background for this book, ( as well as my own on-the-job experience)
 of over 10 years.

Private PSA's have a seedy reputation, and with the help of the IAPPS, I
intend to change that perception. Professional PSA's are highly <trained>
<Thinking> professionals, they are <NOT> "300 lb. guerillas" that push
people around and are what I call " Lawsuit Magnets". My most
successful agent is a women of small stature and high intelligence that
performs the best advance work I have ever witnessed in my career. As
you will learn, "Advance" is in my opinion 99.9 % of all "bodyguard" work.

This is <NOT> a profession filled with glamour- as characterized in the
Hollywood
movies of the day. It is Exhausting work ( and a lot of time in the kitchens
, back-rooms, and wilderness areas of the world ).

As a paid protector, you will realize that your principal is more likely to
be
injured in an auto collision, medical emergency, or fire-- than to be
physically attacked by thugs or terrorists.

I hope I can assist those just starting out in the business, as well as
provide useful information to those seasoned vetrans.

Even if you don't plan on entering the professional "bodyguard" field, you
will find valuable information contained in this book. The information
within these pages may save your life, the life of a family member, or
keep you from being seriously injured at some point in your lives.

With violent crime and terrorism of all forms on the increase worldwide,
you need to acquire <and> practice the skills outlined in this book.

Awareness is the key. Be alert, keep "rational awareness", and stay
SAFE.
