US Commerce OK's export of encryption cash scheme:

The Commerce Dept. has approved export of a digitally encrypted
"Cybercash" scheme. Cybercash is designed for secure commerce over the net,
and allows netizens to buy goods, information and services with
"complete assurance" that the transaction will not compromise their credit
or bank accounts.

Approval by the Commerce Dept. is "not a change in policy" regarding
export of ITAR restricted items, a spokesman said. The encryption
technology is used in only a small portion of the program, only the
piece that contains the credit card information.

Internetters will be able to download the client portion of the program
this Friday from the WWW at: http://www.cybercash.com
