01- "single action" refers to      
    those revolvers or automatics  
that must have the hammer cocked   
before they can be fired. "Double- 
action" is used to describe those  
handguns in which a linkage exist  
between the hammer and the trigger,
allowing the pull of the trigger   
to draw back and release the hammer
. A double action pistol can also  
be used single action by first     
cocking the hammer.
