Euclid Ave. Oak Park, IL 60304 James F. Zangrilli, Chairman Min. $12/year membership fee. (Always looking for new members, especially Illinois residents.) CHICAGO TRIBUNE 2/6/91 -- Mayor Richard Daley introduced yet another Chicago anti-gun proposal to divert attention from the ongoing violent crime wave and his failure to stop it. At a press conference with the newly elected Republican Cook County State Attorney Jack O'Malley (another anti-gunner quickly out of the closet) and his puppet police Supt. Leroy Martin, Daley called for a total ban on the possession in Chicago homes of semi-automatic "assault" rifles. He has a list of all law-abiding residents who have registered such guns and his police will apparently be forced to go and collect them. Daley also called for a state law which would require an additional 10-day waiting period to purchase any rifle or shotgun in Illinois, but for Chicago residents only. Richie and his media stooges did not mention that all Illinois residents have since 1968 been forced to undergo a 60+ day waiting period and state police background check before receiving the F.O.I.D. card necessary to buy any gun. Chicago residents should call their alderman and tell him or her what a silly idea it really is to add another anti-gun law on top of the other ones. CHICAGO TRIBUNE 2/12/91 -- Business as usual in Chicago: On the same day that the 1990 crime statistics came out showing a 14% increase in murders, an 18% increase in robberies, a record 345,443 arrests, and 19,669 weapons confiscated by police (in a gun ban city), not only wasn't anti-gun police Supt. Leroy Martin fired (he instead demoted the cop in charge of the anti-gang unit), but the incompetent Mayor Daley reported that his election campaign raised (extorted) $3.7 million since July compared to his Black rival's $65,000. Isn't Democracy wonderful in Chicago? The best money can buy! CHICAGO TRIBUNE 12/28/90 -- Two off-duty Chicago policewomen had their guns stolen from them in separate incidents. Using Chief Leroy's anti-gun illogic he should disarm all his cops (or at least the female ones) to stop this. DETROIT NEWS 2/12/91 -- Anti-gun Motown Police Chief William Hart was indicted by a federal grand jury on 7 counts for stealing nearly $2.6 million from a secret police fund. I wonder how many other of the anti-gun poster boy police chiefs are as dirty as hart? And we are supposed to trust only the cops to have guns. I don't know about you, but I'll keep mine. CRIME CONTROL DIGEST 2/4/91 -- William Baker, assistant executive director of the FBI told the U.S. Conference of Mayors on Jan. 24 that 4 radical terrorist groups (Abu Nidal Organization, Hezbollah, Palestinian Liberation Front and Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine) have networks in the USA and at least 160 terrorists more have been recently dispatched here from Iraq. If you know any Jewish people who are still anti-gun, tell them to wake up! JACKSONVILLE (FLA) BUSINESS JOURNAL 1/31/91 -- Gun dealers near Jacksonville military bases report a surge in business from military pilots buying semi-auto 15-shot Berettas to replace the revolvers issued in their survival kits. Other military personnel are buying handguns for their wives. HURRY HOME MEN!! NEW YORK TIMES 1/20/91 -- Anti-gun Mayor David Dinkins called for a Federal law prohibiting the issuance of Federal Firearms Licenses to New York residents because "police suspect the 1043 FFL holders in N.Y. City of abusing license privileges to import guns for illegal sale." Dinkins also wants a Federal law requiring gun dealers to notify common carriers when shipments contain firearms to "hamper illegal transactions." He finally wants a Federal central registration for all firearms and their owners. Dinkins would make a great Nazi. NEW YORK TIMES 1/12/91 - Page B29 -- The U.S. Attorney in Brooklyn, Andrew J. Maloney, stated that a grand jury "found substantial evidence of financial wrongdoing and lying under oath" by Mayor Dinkins. Another anti-gun crook? WASHINGTON POST 2/3/91 - Page B1 -- Sarah Brady, who supported the "instantaneous" background check law enacted 2 years ago in Virginia is now back there to support a proposed 3-day waiting period to "cool off." Anybody surprised? WASHINGTON POST 1/10/91 - Page D5 -- Anti-gun Virgina Gov. Wilder, in his "State of the Commonwealth" address bragged that Virginia's "instantaneous" background check from Nov 89 to Nov 90 had "kept weapons out of the hands of 1200 persons, 86 of which were arrested and 56 convicted." Assuming any of the 56 went to jail, this proves again that criminals don't shop at gun stores (or anyplace else). ROLL CALL MAGAZINE 1/31/91 -- Anti-gun Sen. Patrick Moynihan (D-NY) brags his Bill (S. 51) would ban the manufacture and sale of .25 and .32 caliber and 9mm ammunition. He says that he has been trying for 5 years (since the ban on "cop killer bullets" - "the first legislation directed to a particular round of ammunition") to ban more bullets. THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WE HAVE TO FIGHT ALL SUCH LEGISLATION NOW OR BE CRUCIFIED WITH IT LATER!!!! WASHINGTON INQUIRER 12/28/90 -- Portland, Oregon is the most recent city to register a drop in homicide rate after allowing its citizens to carry guns. Portlland issued 2200 concealed-carry permits in the first 7 months of 1990. Homicides have dropped 33% in the same period. Real Americans trust the people. DALLAS MORNING NEWS 2/3/91 -- Kennesaw, Georgia passed a famous law in 1982 requiring all residents to own a gun. In the 8 years since, home burgularies are down 80% (from 11 per 1000 residents in '81 to 3 in '90), there have been no murders by gun and no accidental shootings. Sarah Brady eat your heart out! GLAMOUR MAGAZINE FEB. '91 -- In a poll of its readers, Glamour reported that 83% of its readers are more frightened of crime now than 5 years ago and 31% of them carry some type of weapon. WE MUST STRIVE TO GET MORE WOMEN INVOLVED!! WASHINGTON POST 2/6/91 -- Washington, D.C. repealed the anti-gun bill they passed in December under their former "crack" Mayor Barry. The law would have held manufacturers liable for any damages committed by criminals with guns. It had about as much sense as holding GM liable for hit and run deaths. AMERICAN DEMOGRAPHICS FEB. '91 -- The Equifax Report on Consumers conducted by the Harris organization in late '90 found that 79% of Americans express general concern about threats to personal privacy. NRA should stress privacy. WASHINGTON TIMES 1/30/90 -- A federal and local drive to trace 2342 guns seized from Detroit criminals over 16 months has netted 24 firearms dealers. Some of the dealers supplied the biggest drug and crime gangs according to BATF and FBI. The real question is what punishment if any will these "dealers" get? ROLL CALL, WASHINGTON D.C. 1/31/91 -- City Prosecutor Micheal Cobb blames a rash of juvenile murderers (32 in '90 vs. 3 in '86) on the D.C. law which places a maximum "incarceration" of juvenile murderers at 2 years. Pamper the "kids." BROWNSVILLE, TX HERALD 1/6/91 -- Outdoor editor Bob Tonkin presents the counsel of a wise American columnist who once wrote ... "the surest way out of this crime wave would be to punish the criminals, but, of course that's out of the question, that's barbarous and takes us back, as the hysterics say, to the days before civilization." The columnist? Will Rogers - September, 1925. RICHMOND TIMES DISPATCH 1/26/91 -- The Richmond Housing Authority tried to copy racists in the Chicago Housing Authority and become the second one in the USA which bans residents from possessing any guns in their apartments. Unlike the Chicago "Uncle Tom" civil rights "leaders" (like Jesse) who don't trust poor Blacks to responsibly bear arms, the Virginia president of the NAACP, Jack Gravely spoke against the ban by stating it "sets forth a prohibition that classifies tenants with the only other groups in Virginia subject to such restrictions - felons and lunatics." The WASHINGTON POST of 1/31/91 reported that Gravely also testified "That legislation sends a very deadly message across the land that certain people who live in public housing can't live their lives without 'Big Brother' looking in." The NRA and the ACLU joined NAACP in opposing the bill WHICH WAS STRUCK DOWN! CIVIL RIGHTS IS THE KEY!!! RICHMOND TIMES DISPATCH 2/1/91 -- In a great editorial supporting the above, it stated ... "Like virtually every gun ban to come along, this one would probably prove futile and counterproductive. It is self-evident that the lawless types will ignore it. Its only effect would be to strip honest public housing residents of the guns they might use in self-defense. When circumstances force you to live in a tough neighborhood, the last thing you want to hear is that you cannot keep a gun to defend yourself." Hallelujah and Amen brothers!!!! RICHMOND TIMES DISPATCH 2/5/91 -- Anti-gun hypocrite Joseph D. Morrissey, Richmond Commonwealth's Attorney, testified in favor of stricter gun control as he stated "the only reason a person would carry a loaded gun in a car would be to commit a crime." This fine newspaper reported that Morrissey himself obtained a permit to carry a concealed firearm just two months ago. When confronted with this, he admitted the permit but said he still doesn't carry. WALL STREET JOURNAL 1/10/91 -- Micheal Gartner, president of NBC News in New York, in a huge column supporting the "Brady Bill" admitted that he's against all guns, especially handguns. He sees no legitimate reason to own a pistol. The same hypocrite wrote in the 1/31/91 WSJ that he would no longer be writing a column (the editors weren't renewing him) and he closed with this gem: "Ban guns; guns kill. Cherish the Constitution and the Bill of Rights." Now does anyone still question the no longer hidden agenda of the "free" press? * * * * * GOD BLESS & PROTECT OUR TROOPS - DEFEAT IRAQ SOON * * * * * CHICAGO TRIBUNE 12/28/90 -- Of the estimated 300,000 California owners of semi-automatic "assault" rifles, only 10,000 obeyed the new registration law by its deadline date. Assemblyman Mike Roos, architect of the law, said "It only points up to me that if these people are so cavalier with the law, we should be even more vigilant about who owns these weapons in this society." What about politicians who as so cavalier with the Constitution, pencil-neck? NEWSWEEK 2/4/91 Page 69 -- In a story about the Lithuanians preparing to meet the Russian invaders, it pictured some patriots holding shotguns. I strongly suggest we keep our semi-auto "militia style" rifles, thank you. MONTGOMERY JOURNAL 1/23/91 -- In a surprising editorial from this anti-gun Maryland paper opposing the governor's proposed gun lock bill: "We cannot support this type of gun-control law. It is far too intrusive. Schaefer's proposal would make it a felony for parents to keep firearms "where it might reasonably be expected that an unsupervised minor may gain access" to them. Supporters say the proposal is nothing more than common sense. But wearing a seat belt is common sense, too, and so are keeping poisonous materials away from children, eating vegetables, staying out of the sun and many more precautions that we would not want our government making it a criminal offense not to take. You cannot legislate common sense, and you cannot legislate parental concern, and attempts to do either frighten us." THE ECONOMIST (ENGLAND) 12/22/90 -- In an article entitled "Crime in America" this so-called "conservative" journal which conveniently forgot how they begged America for home defense weapons 50 years ago, made the following asinine statements: "A gun in the pocket turns anyone into a potential killer;" "Americans are not necessarily more violent than other nationalities; it is just that they are more armed;" "Most murders are unpremeditated - and take place only because there happens to be a gun handy;" "In the short term there is one thing that Americans could do to make the level of violent crime less awful. They could pluck up the courage to defy the NRA and passs a tough law to make the casual, repeat casual, ownership of handguns harder. Without a gun, the row in the barroom would not end with a corpse." (Maybe the limey journal can now pontificate on the results of their gun ban in Northern Ireland.) OTTAWA CITIZEN (CANADA) 12/28/90 -- The Canadian Police Association "represents" 32000 police officers in Canada and its C.E.O., James Kingston, delivered the following diatribe to Parliment: "The Canadian Police Association is seriously concerned that our free trade agreement may permit the powerful American gun lobbyists who now spend $65 million in Washington maintaining and promoting their gun sales to start peddling and influencing Ottawa. We also recognize that the U.S. is the most violent society in the world and much of this violence can be directly related to the proliferation of all kinds of firearms." The article also revealed that in 1980 (before gun control) there were 38 assaults with guns in Toronto. In 1989 (5 years after gun control) there were 204 such assaults. A 473% increase which the fascist cop leader ignores. THE ALLIANCE VOICE (L.A.) Jan. '91 -- The City of Los Angeles has officially announced its opposition to a bill (AB2976) which would require the L.A. police chief to issue concealed carry permits to all senior citizens of good repute who apply for one. Norm Boyer, the L.A. Chief Legislative spokesman made the following stupid statement: "The issuance of CCW permits (to those over 65) would impose a danger to the public. Potentially thousands of persons could be allowed to carry concealed weapons on the streets of L.A., creating a vigilante atmosphere." (IN OTHER WORDS, SCREW THE SENIOR CITIZENS) CHICAGO TRIBUNE 2/13/91 -- The Peoples Republic of Morton Grove, Illinois will hold a Village Board meeting on March 11 to debate whether to overturn a 6 year old ordinance banning pickup trucks from being parked overnight on the street. (AND YOU PROBABLY THOUGHT MORON GROVE ONLY BANNED HANDGUNS!!!) WALL STREET JOURNAL 2/7/91 -- A Harvard Medical School study has found that more than 4% of New York patients in '84 were injured or killed due to medical error. (MAYBE THE ANTI-GUN AMA SHOULD SPEND MORE TIME POLICING THEIR OWN) ATLANTA JOURNAL 2/1/91 -- The National Centers for Disease Control reports that 434,175 Americans died in 1988 from smoking, up dramatically from 188,000 in 1965. I know, ban cigarettes, especially the "assault" ones. CHICAGO TRIBUNE 2/1/91 -- New Jersey's anti-gun, Nazi Governor Florio vetoed a "smokers' rights" bill that would have prohibited employees from firing employeess for smoking off-the-job. AT LEAST THE BIG BROTHER FASCIST IS CONSISTENT. THE SAN DIEGO UNION 1/6/91 -- Detectives investigating a serial murder of dozens of women have 6 current and former cops as suspects. SHOULD WE BAN COPS?? * * * * * SUPPORT NRA PATRIOTS - DEFEAT SCUD H.C.I. * * * * * WASHINGTON (D.C.) TIMES 11/12/90 -- The "U.S. Judicial Conference" has drafted legislation soon to be introduced (quietly) in Congress which would "pre-empt" all state and local laws and allow all federal judges to carry concealed weapons anywhere in America. The "crisis" situation demanding this legislation is that 3 of 1666 federal judges have been killed in the past 12 years, ALL IN THEIR OWN HOMES! One was killed with a letter bomb (under this legislation he could have apparently shot the mail man) and the other 2 (one in '79 and one in '88) were shot. The Justice Department has allocated an additional $16 million ($10,000 for each) for such home security systems in addition to the umpteen millions spent for the U.S. Marshals Service which provides round the clock bodyguard service to the royal highness judges. U.S. District Judge William Browning of Tucson, chairman of the security committee, said "Many judges have been threatened. When they're driving in lonesome places they feel more comfortable when they have protection. We're not going to make anyone vigilantes, or cowboys, or anything like that." MY QUESTION IS WHY ARE FEDERAL JUDGES ANYMORE WORTH PROTECTING THAN YOUR WIFE OR MINE? WHEN WE USE THE SAME LOGIC, WE'RE CALLED NUTS. THE ALLIANCE VOICE -- In a commentary concerning Sen. DeConcini's continual use of L.A. police chief Daryl Gates as a universally accepted authority on firearms the Alliance Voice beautifully states: "Are we to believe that Chief Gates is such an accomplished law enforcment officer that his city now has no crime of any kind? That their well-publicized anti-gun moves have totally solved all of L.A.'s problems, and the citizens of the city now freely play in the streets at night? Oh sure!!! This blubbering buffoon of a mahogony cop runs a city that is fighting to earn the the title 'Crime Capital of the World.' He's such a good cop that the feds found 22 tons of cocaine right under his nose in his town! If Los Angelinos were ever told the truth about this man's effectiveness in solving crimes committed in his town, they would instantly replace him with Ronald McDonald. Is it just a coincidence that most of HCI's mahogany cop supporters are also damed poor law enforcement officers? Or do they feel compelled to blame someone or something else for their own miserable performance of duty." NOW ISN'T THAT THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF LEROY, ETC. THAT YOU'E SEEN? WALL STREET JOURNAL 11/12/91 -- In an article concerning the use of various new computer age technology spying devices by police, San Jose, CA police chief (and world class buffoon) Joseph McNamara said, "The potential for abuse of these types of devices is so great that they must be controlled. It's great for fiction, but in the real world the stuff can be anathama to privacy rights." NOW SINCE WHEN WAS THIS FALANGIST THE LEAST CONCERNED ABOUT PEOPLE'S RIGHTS? USA TODAY 10/26/90 -- In their daliy "VOICES" section in which that day's question was "Do we need stronger gun-control laws?", San Jose Gestapo chief Joseph "Banana Joe" McNamara, finally came out of the closet and admitted he wants to ban all guns (except his) when he answered "Definitely ... It's time for domestic disarmament." THIS MAHOGANY COP JUST LOST HIS VENEER. CRIME CONTROL DIGEST 10/1/90 -- HCI Mahogony cop oposter boy "Chief" Richard L. Dotson of Louisville, who was in line to become president of the IACP was fired from his chief post and busted down to captain due to "personal problems." TOO BAD. VANITY FAIR MAGAZINE JAN.'91 -- A 10 page article on Sarah and Jim Brady, although a typical anti-gun propaganda, reveals some facts which should be used against the two Nazis. Jim, who is described (by an admiring author) as having "memory problems," "seizures" and beset by involuntary "wailing," gave the following quotes for this article: "The NRA is like a SWAT team of trained hired killers."; When asked how he was going to lobby the U.S. House Rules Committee, he responded, "I'll talk to them in a way the NRA will understand. Come in with an assault weapon and say, 'Get on the floor, put your hands out'". Another of his rational quotes was, "trying to talk reason to the NRA is like barking up a dead dog's butt." When the author asked Jim about the accuracy of his autobiography, THUMBS UP, in which it was said that Brady was preoccupied with the notion that John Hinckley would somehow get out and come after him again and "BRADY WANTED TO BE SURE HE HAD A GUN TO GREET HINKLEY WITH," Brady answered the author "I had a gun" to the question "Was it true you wanted to get a gun to protect yourself against Hinckley?" Witch Sarah confirmed this by saying "That sounds like something Jim might have said in those days." Those days were in 1987 when the biography was written. So Jim was paranoid about Hinckley for at least six years after he was shot. Even Sarah said she "wondered" if he still feels fear. IN OTHER WORDS, HERE IS A HYPOCRITE TRYING TO "KEEP GUNS OUT OF THE WRONG HANDS" WHEN SHE STOOD BY WHILE HER OBVIOUSLY MENTALLY IMPAIRED HUSBAND HAD A GUN IN HIS PARANOID WAIT FOR HINCKLEY TO MAGICALLY APPEAR TO SHOOT HIM AGAIN, AS IF HINCKLEY HAD EVER MEANT TO SHOOT BRADY IN THE FIRST PLACE, IN FACT, THE MENTAL MIDGET HINCKLEY HAS PUBLICALLY SUPPORTED SARAH'S GUN BANNING EFFORTS AND SAID HE TOO WANTED TO WORK FOR H.C.I. WHEN HE GOT OUT OF THE BOOBY HATCH. LATE REPORT 2/18/91 -- NRA EXECUTIVE VICE-PRESIDENT RESIGNED. More in next BULLETin. -------------------------------- "Never Surrender Your Firearms!"
