During December 1999 I conducted a little experiment by using a visitor WebTracker, my main objective actually was to find out what browsers and resolutions my visitors were predominantly using. I've always been fundamentally opposed to these concealed activities yet I know that most sites are now collating this information, no doubt in the hope they can one day sell you something useless. I've now removed the tracker so you can once again freely access all of the information I provide without fear of my tracking you or worse still selling your surfing details to an unscrupulous commercial organisation.
First of all a list of the last 20 visitors.

If visitors to my site are in anyway typical of today's web surfers then poor Fravia might well be considering giving up his war against MS, with 2/3 of all the people visiting my site using MSIE 4/5. I think 2 years ago 60%+ would have been using Netscape. Sadly, Opera does not appear to be catching on, even amongst reverse engineers :-(, I can't help but feel this is Opera Software's mistaken belief that they can make money from their very good browser at this stage in the product life cycle.

Looking at your Operating Systems I have to say I wasn't too surprised. Virtually all of you are running a 'Windows' of some sort, not that I'd really expected anything different. It seems that more than 1/2 of you have also upgraded from good old Windows 95 to bug-ridden Windows 98, then again I wonder how many of you have actually paid for the upgrade :-).
Rather than bore you with too many more graphics, I'll tell you that 42% of visitors have screen resolutions of 800 x 600 in 16-bit colour, running up behind are 34% with 1024 x 768. Search-engine wise most of you are finding my site courtesy of the big 3, Yahoo, AltaVista & Lyco's, your most common keywords, 'crackz', 'SoftICE', 'tutorials' + many combinations of all 3. Most referring visitors come from the sites I've linked on my own links page.
Who knows maybe in a year or so I'll repeat this exercise. Just so you know, I'm running Windows 98 at 800 x 600 with 16 bit colour and MSIE 5, true to form I exhibit all the characteristics of the majority of my visitors :-).
