Pins are labeled with the number of the pin, followed by the descriptive name used in Chapter 5 of What is your TNC doing?

Regency HR-2A

Microphone Connector Stereo 1/4-inch Phone Jack

Tip - Transmit Signal
Ring - PTT Signal
Sleeve - Ground

Receive Connections Rear of Radio has Four (4) Screw Terminals

Terminals 1 and 4 - Receive Signal
Terminal 1 - positive side of speaker wire
Terminal 4 - negative side of speaker wire

Note: Terminals 1 and 2 are linked together by a strap to allow the internal speaker to function. To connect the Receive Signal to the TNC, remove the strap and connect the positive side of the speaker wire from the TNC to terminal 1. Connect the negative side of the speaker wire from the TNC to terminal 4. Terminals 2 and 3 remain disconnected.

If you want to hear the audio from the radio, leave the strap connected to terminals 1 and 2 and proceed with connecting speaker wire from TNC to terminals 1 and 4.
