Chinese officials arrested a thirteen year old in the Inner Mongolia
region for illegally
accessing an information service network using his father's name. The
youngster used his father's account to connect to an information network
and set up a web page called "Hacker" free of charge at a Web site based
in the southern city of Guangzhou in early October. He also manipulated
computer codes to take control of managers' accounts in a multimedia
telecommunications system in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia's regional capital.

When newspaper sites get cracked it makes you question the validity of
the news they present. This time it was the Baltimore Sun, the National
Enquirer and the Star. Many sites hosted by Intermedia Business
Internet, a Maryland ISP, were redirected to a site in Sweden, after
their DNS servers had been broken into. The site in Sweden called
for the release of imprisoned hacker Kevin Mitnick.
