  CDAII passes House!

contributed by Space Rogue
The Child Online Protection Act has passed a voice vote in the House. The Senate voted 98-1, with only Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt, dissenting, to amend a Tax Freedom bill with a similar measure. If the Senate version is approved the differences between the House and Senate versions will need to be worked out by Friday before Congress adjourns.

contributed by Space Rogue
The House has passed a roving wiretap provision which was added to a large Intelligence authorization bill. These new provisions allow federal authorities to wiretap a person not just an individual phone number. This means means they can tap any phone they feel a suspect may be using not just a specific number. Very Very Scary.
