Credit Suisse Jumps On The Busted Bank Bandwagon

contributed by laney and abner
Several actors are asking themselves the quintessential Clash question -"should I stay or should I go?"- after private information in their Swiss bank accounts was revealed on the website of Credit Suisse's online banking service. Although the information revealed on Direct Net was in a transfer testing system area, 675 money transfer details were exposed for almost a week. In response to this PR nightmare, a spokesman for Credit Suisse declared, "You could never get into the account area of these people."

  Free-lance Writers Battle Publishers

contributed by harvest
A lawsuit originally filed and won in 1993 by six free-lance authors who argued that various media companies were violating copyrights by reproducing their work online without permission, may prove to be a short lived victory if publishing companies have anything to say about it. The US Supreme Court has agreed to hear an appeal my major players players in the publishing world including the New York Times and Time Magazine. The latest rematch comes after a lower court ruling forced online publishers to obtain permission from free-lance artists before including their work in any database.
