Installation:

To complete installation of the MarkMyScriptures program you must
download one of the following sets of scripture text from the
www.palmgear.com site: "MarkMyScriptures KJV Bible" or
"MarkMyScriptures LDS Standard Works." Click on the Doc Religion
section to access these files.

Other documents cannot be accessed by MarkMyScriptures until at
least one scripture document and index are loaded.

Unzip the scriptures from the downloaded zip file into a directory.
Then run your Palm Desktop application. Choose install, and add
ALL the files from that directory to your Palm user ID and upload
them with the Hot Sync function.

***NOTE*** the older DOS pkunzip will not extract the files
correctly (It truncates the long file names). Please use an
unzipping utility which will retain the whole filename, such as
WinZip. If you do not do this, you will get

PKUNZIP: (W18) Warning! ... already exists. Overwrite(y/n/a/r)

If you must use pkunzip, choose "r" and rename the files. after you
are done unzipping everything, rename the (8.3) files back to their
original file names reported by pkunzip.

"Mote", "motes". "smote", etc.

*** IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT DELETING DOCUMENTS ***

THE PROBLEM: If you use the palm's built in application delete
to delete a DOC file, it will delete ALL doc files. It does
this because the palm delete application locates and destroys
all files with the same creator id as the one you are deleting;
this is how it deletes application data associated with an
application. Except, in this case, you dont want to delete all
your docs; you just want to delete the one you are done reading.

THE SOLUTION: use the Delete Current Document feature in
MarkMyScriptures to delete only one document. Note that deleting
the document will ALSO delete the index, and all underlines/notes
associated with the document, so use it with care! (You may want
to make backup files from your Hotsync backup directories of those
files if you want to re-install them at a later time, just to be
safe)
