Flexible

Using PocketCall
An evaluation copy of PocketCall can be downloaded for free. Once you have downloaded PocketCall, install it to your Palm. The PocketCall Zip file includes databases containing information for the AT&T, BT, MCI, Sprint and Virtel calling card networks. You should install the databases for the telephone networks that you wish to use with PocketCall onto your Palm in the same way that you install the application. Each database file is named in the form <network>.pdb
When installation is complete, run PocketCall by tapping its icon in the Home screen.
 |
The PocketCall application screen is split into two sections. The top half of the screen is for you to select the calling card that you want to use and to enter information about your phone call. The lower section is a 'dialing script' which tells you what you need to dial to make a call. |
 |
To prepare to use PocketCall, create an account for the calling card you want to use.
Select 'Edit Cards...' from the card selector. |
 |
Create an account for each card by giving it a name, selecting the type of card it is and entering your card number.
You can create accounts for up to eight different calling cards. |
 |
To begin making a call, select the card that you want to use.
Then select the country that you are calling from and the country that you are calling.
Finally enter the telephone number of the person you are calling or find it in your Palm Address Book by pressing the 'magnifying glass' on the main screen. |
 |
This will pop-up a view of the Palm Address Book, showing the telephone numbers of your contacts. Find and select the person that you wish to dial and pick one of their telephone numbers from the pop-up list. This number will be brought to the main PocketCall screen. |
 |
To make the call using any touch tone telephone, follow the instructions in the lower half of the PocketCall screen - under the heading "To make the call:"...
This is a simple script that gives you all the information and numbers you need to make the call effortlessly. |
Please note, PocketCall analyses the telephone number to create the correct digits to dial. The telephone number needs to be in the right kind of format if PocketCall is to do this successfully. The normal national number (including area code) you dial for someone should work fine e.g. (408)-123-4567 (US) or 01234 567 8901 (UK) The international number will also work well with +, 00 or 011 followed by the Country Code and the National Number. Make sure the "Call is to:" country matches the country code in the number e.g. UK and +44 (0) 123 456 7890.
Supported Calling Cards
Our database architecture makes it possible for PocketCall to support calling cards from many telephone networks.
