The Israeli Boycott

They would isolate Israeli Universities and block Israeli Scholars from visiting and lecturing in British Universities.

Board Of British Jews Is Irate

The head, Henry Grunwald, has launched a campaign to overturn the decision. British Jews vow to combat anti-Israel boycotts, the effort will be coordinated with both Jewish and non-Jewish trade union members and academics, the Israeli Embassy, and Israel advocacy and community organizations.

Abe Foxman Is Outraged

Also this week, the Anti-Defamation League has published a series of advertisements in the Times protesting the boycott decision.

Columbia College President Is Outraged

L. Abe Bollinger said: " I am profoundly disturbed by the recent vote by Britain’s new University and College Union to advance a boycott against Israeli academic institutions.  In seeking to quarantine Israeli universities and scholars this vote threatens every university. At Columbia I am proud to say that we embrace Israeli scholars and universities that the UCU is now all too eager to isolate."

 

Jewish Giants Unite

Harvard law Prof. Alan Dershowitz and Steven Weinberg, started a solidarity statement. University presidents are asking academics to sign.
