BAGHDAD, Jan 9 - Six U.S. soldiers were
killed, and four others injured, in a house rigged with explosives
on Wednesday in Diyala province. This follows a day when three American
soldiers were shot to death in adjacent Salahuddin province. This occurs
as thge US forces launch a major operation against al Qaeda. It was one of
the highest daily death tolls for U.S. troops in Iraq for months. The
military said four U.S. soldiers were also wounded in the explosion.
