The Raid Itself
In April of 2008, Texas Child Protective Services got a 'Mystery
call' from a women saying she was raped and abused. Next, they took
custody of all 462 of the children under age 18 from the church's YFZ
Ranch, assisted by a large force of Texas Rangers who took control of
the compound from the third to the tenth of that month.

They Grabbed This Girl
An 18-year-old Pamela Jessop was seized as a minor, and put into
"protective custody". At the time, she was pregnant, and gave birth
while in state custody.
Pamela Jessop said authorities knew how old she was when they raided
her home on the Yearning for Zion Ranch, which is owned by the
Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

The State Had People In The Delivery Room
When she went into labor, Jessop said what should have been one of
the happiest days of her life turned into one of the worst.
She said foster care workers were in the delivery room with her.

She Was Afraid They Would Take The Baby
"One of the most stressful days of my life was that day. I felt like
hawks were all around me, trying to snatch my baby the minute I shut
my eyes or laid him down," Jessop recalled.

Her Other Child Is In Custody
Jessop's two children remain in foster care, and she has been
allowed to remain with the baby.
