Chris Simcox Founded The Minutemen

In October 2002, Chris Simcox issued a public call to arms, inviting readers of his newspaper, the Tombstone Tumbleweed, to join a "Citizens Border Patrol Militia"  Simcox's practice of reporting illegal immigrants  whose function, In December 2004, Simcox teamed with James Gilchrist to organize the Minuteman Project.

Gilchrist was a former newspaper reporter, and a retired California Certified Public Accountant. In February 2007, there was a bitter feud over leadership of the Minuteman Project, MMP, Inc. and the group sued Jim Gilchrist for fraud.  Gilchrist unsuccessfully ran as an American Independent Party candidate for the United States House of Representatives in California.

He feigns opposition to abortions, despite being one of the founders of Planned Parenthood in the 1960s.

Tancredo sponsored the Sudan Peace Act, which says depose the Muslim rulers and install the SLA communist movement. Congressman Tancredo's position on Iraq is: "America’s noble sacrifice has purchased Iraqis a precious opportunity for democratic change; it is now up to them to ensure success.  He contends  the war is not about Israel, and their quest to control the mideast oil fields. Tancredo's Speeches Are Mainly Staged 'Hate Hoaxes'

Oddly Tancredo's rallies center around the hotbed's of Judaism, such as the Michigan State University College of Law.  On November 30, 2006 a protest turned violent as Hillel students, posing as protestors, tried to block Tancredo's speech. Police were called when a protestor, Benjamin Fine, pulled a fire alarm prior to the speech on immigration policy.

On April 14, 2009, a speech by Tancredo at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was disrupted by students protesting his views on immigration. 5

A good guess is the minutemen were a real group, and the Southern Poverty Law Center saw a problem. The minutemen  internal power struggle is typical of a Zionist caused rift.
