Elena Kagan
Kagan was born to a Jewish family in New York City. She attended
Hunter College High School, Princeton University, and graduated
with a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1986. Kagan was formerly
dean of Harvard Law School and Charles Hamilton Houston Professor of

University of Chicago Laboratory School, and the University of Chicago in 1941;
while in college, Stevens also became a member of the Omega chapter of
Psi Upsilon.
He avoided combat service in WW2, and received a medal as a clerk.
