Early in the morning, in Baghdad's Sadr City slum, the city's poorest
gather at Tayaran Square soliciting jobs as construction workers,
cleaners and painters, where employers meet them. On the night before,
Israeli operatives parked on a side street. The next morning another
Israeli operative pulls up a minivan, calls the Iraqis over, as
they are filling out forms, he walks away and detonates the truck, and
the car, which is parked 30 feet away. All that is left is crumpled
medal, broken glass, body parts, sixty dead, and two hundred maimed.
A Photographer Was Assassinated
In Mosul ,an Associated Press cameraman, Aswan Lutfalla was
assassinated. The Iraq conflict may be the most dangerous war in history
for journalists. At least 89 journalists and 37 media support workers
have been killed in Iraq since the start of hostilities in March 2003.
A cameraman with free access could pretty well document this war.
Station cameras outside the interior ministry and tape who goes and
comes, you would see a lot of Israeli faces.
