Edwin Meese III

Meese was the central figure in the Inslaw scandal which involved the theft by the Justice Department of PROMIS – a very powerful piece of dissident tracking software – from it's rightful owners who were then driven into bankruptcy by the DOJ's failure to pay its bill.

He also figured prominently in the Iran-Contra affair.
