term is used the term "f" is just the GHz or
MHz multiplier, whereas in the ratio form the

C. Status of 5th Edition:
The "5th Edition" is being republished under a new number of TP 8347. It was sent to the printers in May. Once we receive new books we will send them out. Until then use the small (interim) blue book dated June 1996 provided you insert the above changes. In the 5th Edition if something is in log form we will put it in log form, i.e., we shall have "10 log Pt + 10 log Gt" versus listing Pt + Gt (bolded) and saying the factors are in dB as done on page 4-3.1. The old way has caused confusion since Pt is not equal to Pt (Bolded) .
