Response to Joe McMoneagle's Comment

Joe--
Far be it from me to leap to Ed Dame's defense whenever he does something dumb (he's a big boy and can take care of himself). However, in this case I don't think Ed's directly responsible for this stupid news release. I talked to him about this circa a week and a half or two weeks ago; John Alexander had just faxed him a copy of the "news release" that he (John) had picked up off the 'net. Ed claims he hadn't a clue it was out there, and expressed embarrassment about it. His thought at the time was that his "media agent" (NFI) had pieced it together from notes and recollections of things said or discussed in the past, and had added stuff the agent thought was true but that he had either misunderstood or imagined.
Ed claims to be as surprised and embarrassed as anyone about the release and expressed annoyance that he was going to have to come up with some sort of disclaimer (which I haven't heard has appeared yet...).
As he has often demonstrated, Ed is fully capable of misrepresenting the truth through distortion and hyperbole; however, up 'til now I've never known him to delberately lie. I could be wrong, but in this case I think he was definitely chagrined at the appearance of the "news release."
Nonetheless, I enjoyed your response, and think it adds some further useful info to the debate!
