I don't explain what my poems mean. If one of my poems has only one possible meaning then I haven't done my job properly. Often new interpretations become apparent only well after a poem is written. Ultimately, though, what I meant or didn't mean by a poem is irrelevant. A poem should leave enough room for the reader to see his or her own interpretations, experiences and imagery in it. The old truism about universality and individuality holds for poetry too. I hope you find something worthwhile in my poems.
