This is another update of my situation, and also some description of the current sociopolitical system in the U.S. It mainly covers points I might have missed in my last update. It is also blunt. Some people will say that I should be tactful and pander to one political group or another, but we are talking about torture here. There have been tactful politicians for fifty years who have not managed to truly expose or stop the covert predation on American citizens by their own government agents and agencies. At the least I am going to lay it out straight.
Let's review here what intelligence agencies do. The tone here is deliberate. Everyone knows these things, but people manage to conveniently forget. Intelligence agencies lie. They concoct lie after lie. That is part of their job description. They undermine governments around the world. They harass people for whatever reason they see fit. They concoct whatever set of lies they think they can sell to ``justify'' what they have done, assuming they do not just keep it all secret. They market their lies, leveraging any information they can from what they might pick up through their massive surveillance networks. They do all this behind a huge lying conspiracy which they always, always justify as ``national security.'' We are supposed to just trust them. We are supposed to believe that they provide all the information needed for their effective oversight to the relevant elected officials -- even though they have historically resisted this every step of the way.
Everyone knows this, especially if they think we are only talking about foreign operations. Put aside for the moment the monumental abuses that U.S. intelligence has committed overseas. We are also supposed to believe that they do not victimize American citizens here in the U.S., despite a long history or such victimization. Of course a nation needs an intelligence agency, but that basic fact is distorted to rationalize away any abuses by such agencies. Another line goes that most intelligence agents are hardworking and dedicated and blah blah blah. They are nonetheless working in the same system and behind the same wall of silence and lies that is used to cloak the complete undermining of the Constitution.
The culture of intelligence and lies is a cancer that has grown underneath the American system, sickening all of it. It is not just contained within what are traditionally considered intelligence matters, but has spread to all of society. The mainstream press has become a propaganda mouthpiece for the secret government. Many elected officials participate in or have been dragged one way or another into what is truly a conspiracy of stunning size. Ordinary citizens are at best constantly propagandized by this group of ``insiders'' and at worst are directly denied their very freedom of thought and mentation. Then we are told that the government represents the people because it was democratically elected.
Let me discuss American culture here for a minute. Yes, America does have a culture. This is even admitted by the people waging so-called ``culture wars'' for the heart and mind of the American people, although they typically neglect to mention the cultural aspects of violence and exploitation which run through American history like blood from a whip wound. When these violent and exploitative aspects are covered the focus is seldom on the government and the groups in power who commit the most egregious of such abuses. You do not have to be French to find fault in American culture, though that is something of an American joke used to dismiss such criticism. The current spectrum of ``allowed'' political thought is so narrow it is surprising people's heads don't implode.
How does this fit into my ``cause''? That is a very American sort of compartmentalized thinking. I must have a cause. Well, certainly I want to stop my own personal torture which happens every day. If someone puts duct tape on your mouth the first thing you want to do is take it off, and if someone is beating you with a stick you first want to get them to stop. I also want to help other citizens who are subjected to the same sorts of abuse with which I am now quite familiar.
So I suppose my ``cause'' is stopping mind control abuses. Put narrowly, stopping nonconsensual behavior control and modification operations, especially those using neuroinfluencing and electromagnetic weapons. Put more generally it is fighting for the basic human rights of American citizens to be both respected and protected by their government. On the larger scale of what is really important, stopping slavery and ongoing torture ranks right up with the top items. It might now seem cliched for me to say that your children's future will be affected, because so many things these days are touted as being done for the children. But this cuts right at the heart of basic freedoms. So if you need that selfish motive (and you yourself might be targeted any time, or might already be targeted without knowing it) your children's future freedom is indeed at stake -- as much as the spin machines may try to redefine those terms or sap them of meaning. The technology is only getting better, cheaper, and more available. Techniques are being refined on the backs of nonconsensual victims. A military/police state government has no legitimacy whatsoever here in the territory comprising the United States, as I have written before.
Those are not the only things I care about, of course, and I have a variety of other interests including political and religious thoughts and beliefs. In the American form of compartmentalization and reductionism, though, you are only expected to have one ``cause'' and are expected to be a complete drone otherwise. God forbid I should practice a non-Christian religion (and this same restriction also extends to some Christians who practice their religion rather than just giving it lip service). God forbid I should advocate marijuana decriminalization.
Marijuana is a good one, thanks to years of lies about it and the demonization of its users. U.S. marijuana policy is something of a primer on the irrational, corrupt, and cruel state of political affairs. I am not about to adopt any stupid political line because some habitual liar and manipulator implies it might help to end my torture. The professional liars (when not peddling another story) will even insinuate that I was chosen for ongoing extrajudicial torture because of my stand on marijuana -- which would be truly fascistic even if it had any truth to it at all rather than just being another phony excuse. To call this a double standard would be a mammoth understatement. Heaven forbid I had ever smoked marijuana and inhaled -- like 70 million other Americans and many of our political leaders. Have I? That is none of anyone's business, really. I am a private citizen, not charged with any crime, yet subjected to vicious attacks in conjunction with the most invasive sort of surveillance ever devised. Part of the game plan of the liars is to turn people's private lives into some political football in trying to ``justify'' their crimes against humanity. They also want people to have to guess at why the abuse is happening. Though there are far more likely reasons I was selected for torture than anything having to do with to marijuana, the real reason always comes down to this: because the torturers are Nazis and they thought they could get away with it. Due process is among the other political jokes in the U.S. Constitution. You do not have to agree with my position on marijuana to know that nothing justifies the sort of abuses that are taking place in the U.S.
Part of what feeds the abuses is our prudish and puritanical culture -- but it is a cynical sort of puritanism. The separation between public and private is supposed to be a foundation of our society, but that separation is not respected in the least by those with the technological means to violate it on a whim. Thus we have people held up for supposed ridicule for their private acts by those who regularly commit unspeakable privacy violations in the first place. (We are supposed to pretend they are not there and do not exist, though.) They violate people's most intimate moments thoughts. Their sex lives, their family business, their professional lives, their random thoughts -- all are freely violated. The supposed separation between public and private is used to abet psychological violence against the victims of surveillance. This appeals to the lowest and most tawdry elements of human nature as well, where people are eager to feed on the most intimate private details of other people's lives -- however such details are obtained or embellished. These are adult citizens tittering and snickering worse than junior high schoolers.
Let me be even blunter for a moment, because I think the following metaphor hits fairly directly. Politically speaking, at least, most Americans are like cows being herded by a bunch of chattering monkeys. There are still a decent number of Americans who do not fit into that picture, but in large measure it holds. I'll leave it to the reader to consider the metaphor in a general sense. Specifically, suppose you were attacked by a bunch of vicious chattering monkeys. You would rightly be in fear for your life, and would want to stop the attack, but you would not especially care what they were chattering about. You would not really care if they were laughing at you in their chatter. I have come to about that same state of mind regarding the U.S. Nazis, though it was a painful realization to come to. Socially induced pain, shame, or humiliation requires you to be a part of that society doing the ``sanctioning.'' Whatever segment of American society and culture I am a part of, I have no respect at all for the Nazi chattering monkeys and what they represent. I suppose I am progressing along through the states a resistant person under torture goes through.
Consider John McCain, who was tortured by the North Vietnamese while a prisoner of war -- though many others went through similar ordeals and could be equally well used in this example. If I am treading on politically sensitive turf here that is too bad. Mind control victims are also victims of torture. Sometimes it is direct physical torture and sometimes it is psychological torture carefully planned and played out over years. Both are just as reprehensible; it is a pointless exercise to try to say one is worse. In fact they are not even easily separable. Mock executions day after day can take a horrible toll. Water torture can take a horrible toll with its incessant drip drip drip planned out by the torturers. The victims know quite well that the intention is to damage them or to ``break'' them and that other human beings are purposely doing this. The torturers may fancy themselves as behavior scientists or some other rationalization, but when you hit someone with a stick and they ``respond'' that is is hardly the stuff of science. Sometimes actual science is involved, in the cold and amoral sense of Josef Mengele, which in some ways is even worse.
Suppose McCain's torture had been videotaped and the tapes spread around as almost a form of entertainment. Suppose ordinary people had been invited to remotely help in his torture. That is essentially what many mind control victims must deal with. McCain knew who was torturing him and why, and he knew he had supporters back at home. Mind control victims do not even get that small consolation. They only know that their own countrymen are inflicting this torture on them and they typically have no idea exactly who or how or why. This all takes place within a culture set up to deny it is happening at all, where the illusion that everything is normal is always projected. Often even their family and friends cannot break through this conditioning to accept what is really happening.
I will not go into the abuse of psychiatry here; I have written about it before. I will only say that as a profession psychology and psychiatry have a lot to answer for. McCain is now considered a hero. The cold war spies now try to portray themselves as heroes for ``winning the cold war,'' though it is an open question as to who won and what ideology is now the prevalent one. (And I am not talking about the Capitalist vs. Communist rhetoric we heard for so long.) What about the mind control victims? They are essentially veterans of the cold war, at least the earlier victims. Yet the CIA and other agencies will still not even tell MKULTRA victims from years ago what was done to them. They are left to be ridiculed and considered mentally ill. The victims of radiation experiments were ridiculed for years, even when the evidence of their abuse was overwhelming. When the government finally dealt with that small fraction of its crimes it still only covered abuses before 1974 -- there are still more out there.
Let me add a note here about the term victim. The current American fashion is to criticize victims for saying they are victims. There are no victims in America -- how fortunate. What started as a way to help victims overcome what had happened to them by urging them ``not to be victims'' soon became distorted into a way to dismiss their claims entirely. This trend was helped along by some cases of people and groups claiming to be victims of various sorts who had not necessarily suffered in the same way as more direct victims, diluting the term. So now ``victim'' is something of a loaded word. But if you get robbed at gunpoint you are a robbery victim. That is the English language. If you are subjected to mind control harassment and torture you are a mind control victim.
How are mind control victims dealt with? As I have said, they are placed under the most invasive surveillance imaginable. Their minds are repeatedly violated. They are under constant threats on their lives and those of their family members. They are called kooks and ridiculed, in the favorite American technique of dismissing unpleasant realities. Anything they might do in their homes or think in their minds is turned against them to dispirit and ``break'' them, or else to supposedly rationalize the extrajudicial torture they are subjected to. They are exploited for any purpose their torturers can exploit them for, including personal profit. This is literally a system of slavery.
Any psychological tool or lever is employed to manipulate the victims' behavior inside their minds and homes, often just to see what will happen. It is analogous to killing a city's population with a neutron bomb and leaving the buildings standing, except that people can seemingly grasp that idea better than they can the manipulation and destruction a person's mind while leaving the body relatively intact. The torturers physically and remotely jolt people or alter their heart rate for aversive conditioning. They dig through people's memories (interrogation) for psychological bludgeons to hit them with. They use anything, and they have a penchant for the personal or tawdry: family relations, sexual fantasies, toilet habits, and so forth. They save information about what these people said in various private conversations over the years to attack them with later. They use this information to concoct plausible lies about the person. They spread this dirt throughout the society with a stunningly large network or collaborators. They try to predict what the victim will do. They harass the victims in various ways and set up situations to mess with their minds. Religion is another powerful lever for control that is especially likely to be desecrated to manipulate religious people, both within their minds and externally. The victims can have their movements, thoughts, and intentions interpreted and commented on in one way or another by some of the most ignorant and provincial people the planet ever produced.
This treatment continues literally for years. It will soon be five years that I have been tortured like this. Five years that should have been some of the most productive of my life. The torturers do not care. It is like the wholesale extinguishing of talent and lives during the Holocaust. Each victim has a life they might have lived, things they might have produced, things they might have done. All wasted for essentially nothing. And perhaps the Nazis will concoct the lie that these people would have led ``bad'' lives -- in their own ignorant and self-serving judgment -- and so they needed to be controlled for the good of everyone. How familiar.
How do you respond to people who try to manipulate your every behavior and your every thought? I try to stay as orthogonal as I can to the manipulation. That is, to neither be influenced toward one thing or against it. To ignore it as much as possible except to be aware of it, to write about it, and to work against it. Of course you need to get to the point where you are indifferent to their death threats and their physical attacks on you. Where you are essentially already dead, since they have killed you so many times already. That is all. Take whatever freedom you can, because anything else is a cruel joke. Slaves in the slave houses of old tried to live their lives as best they could, enjoying what they could, even if the slaveholder would try to claim their singing meant they were happy as slaves. Perhaps in the modern U.S. the place for any person of conscience is in the gulag system, either the home concentration camp form or the largest official prison system in the world.
Many ordinary citizens simply cannot accept or deal with the fact that other people in their society are so very vicious and cruel. Some are like people dazzled by a Hitlerian big lie who desperately want to believe the victims have done something to deserve what they got. Other citizens find it expedient to pretend the death camp down the street does not exist.
What more can I say? People who have been following this for any length of time and still don't get it may never get it. If you recognize their propaganda why would you believe it? They'll call victims crazy between the lines while denying the message is there at all. When they launch a smear, why would you believe that? If it were true, how would they know that and what would that imply? I feel like I have finished a long research project, though one that was forced on me and which was worse than any I could have earlier imagined. I started out trying the usual channels, working with the societal institutions, so no one can say I have not tried. I do not jump to conclusions, but I learn fast. This is a corrupt, wretched, and broken society. Americans are the biggest hypocrites on the planet, bar none. They spout their lovely lies and smile and joke, but they would see you in bondage if they had half a chance. They would give you a TV and a newspaper to convince you that you deserved to be a slave, and besides, slavery does not exist. Sweet dreams.
One thing that might have come out of the recent bombing campaign in Yugoslavia is more awareness of government propaganda. (Besides helping people who were, in a sense, fortunate that ending their massive persecution happened to fit in with behind-the-scenes political objectives.) The U.S. media always pointed out Yugoslavian propaganda, but in this context their own propaganda roles became more clear. We learned that news media whose role was propaganda support, for a regime we attacked for the stated purpose of stopping atrocities against its own people, were fair game for NATO bombing. Yet the U.S. media has known long about many domestic atrocities and either covered them up or worse has helped to smear, harass, and manipulate the victims.
Once again, the usual spin and propaganda will follow from this. Some has started even before I have publicly posted this. Talk, talk, and delay while pretending something is happening. If something really is happening they try to subvert it or minimize it. The high-minded propagandists will talk about building bridges, but if you build a bridge to Nazis they will use it to cross over and attempt to enslave you. How many times do you have to turn the other cheek and get smacked in the face to learn that? The nitpickers will focus on tiny nits. The fence sitters will try not to take a position. The conciliator propagandists will say that all sides are at fault in some way or another and so... nothing should happen. Ignoring proportionality is another American specialty, with the cultural tendency toward binary thinking. They could make Josef Mengele look not so bad... and in fact they literally did that with many of his fellow slavers. Nazis with lawyers and PR men; what more can I say. At some point I have to trust that there are people who still have brains and some basic human decency.
Now I have gone and said it. I suppose this has ruined all my chances of having my torture stop and, they will say, it must be all my own fault. For the first time in fifty years: If only I had been tactful and politely asked for or begged for my basic human rights I might have been given a few -- on a short leash, obviously. If you let them control you by telling you that help is on the way, but only if you keep quiet or conform to their wishes, then they have succeeded in manipulating you while you wait and wait for a train that may never come. The lies and the spin will go on until the cows come home. I do not ask or beg for my basic human rights. I know what inalienable means. I demand that the government respect and protect the rights of its citizens. I ask decent people to help bring this about. Authoritarians who steal away freedoms do not easily hand them back. Keep resisting, doing what you can, and trying to find the real news.
