Top news? XP or Privacy?
Ok, after last nights 2600 meeting, some things started to worry me. One thing I was disturbed about, if you go to any of the top computer news sites, you will only see one big article about the ATA bill and three or so stories about Microsoft or XP. It makes me wonder about people not aware of how much privacy should be a priority right to us all.
I know that when you want convenience, you give us certain privacy. An example is the TiVo. You get customized recordings, TV Listings and Suggestions mad by the unit. Should it bother you that they have the ability to mine the data of your TV watching habits? Now that is just a limited way of data mining. Data mining is done all the time. How about the data mining capabilities in Windows XP? It gets a little scary.
Why am I worried? Well the new ATA act gives the government even more power to invade our privacy because it is so vague in what they are looking for. It also endangers hackers to be severly punished more than the criminals that rape or murder. I only ask, why are news sites going "blah, blah XP" "Blah Blah Microsoft" and only limited coverage about our rights.
Tonight is 2600!
Well, tonight is 2600 and the NYC Moloch people are probably getting on their way right now and Moloch West will be attending the one in LA. I just recieved the display for my car MP3 player, so I will probably be talking a lot about that. I will have pictures of the car MP3 player soon. Have a good weekend.
We switched to a new format
So, you have noticed the new format of the news. This is because of the many users of Moloch and the long distances between us. There will be more news to follow. Please feel free to comment on this bold move if you feel it's neccessary.

Lunaslide, Flea and Silver all produced a great party here in California and I am glad I was in attendance. I just wish I could remember more of the party.
We would like to wish everyone a safe holiday in light of the terrorist warnings that have been in the news.
