Everyone say Yea! Senate votes for no net tax for the next 2 years
I read yesterday that the Senate has voted to renew the ban on internet taxes. The taxes will still be applied to the "Brick and Mortar" businesses for only the state that they reside in. You can read more

Heh, I had this idea too
It appears overseas they got the idea to hack the overly apparent Microsoft XP avertising billboards. On one of them they used the simple "Spray Can" hack and on the other they were more scomplex hack with the cut and paste technique. Check them out here.

New Radiohead CD built with copy protection
I didn't buy one but one of my friends did. He told me the new Radiohead CD wouldn't copy or rip. etc. Now it would work under a Mac. This is one of the many reasons I don't like Microsoft. It's like buying an appliance for your house, only having one outlet for it in your Microsoft house and something is already using that outlet. Now you go to your friend's Apple house and he has many outlets for all of your devices. Why is this a good copy protection scheme? I don't have the available resources, so I won't copy now? It just hinders the resources of people who plan not to copy at all. Boycott these CDs. Don't wait for it become another Beta tape or Divx DVD.
Thai resellers prove Microsoft XP can be cracked
Cnet News.com has a story on the shops at Bangkok's Pantip Plaza. Aparently they pirates had found ways of getting around the new operating system's security features. Not that anyone figured this would be hard to crack, but the only bootlegs I have seen were the beta and select distrobutions. They further detail that the Thai shops are selling the copies for a low price of $2.70. However the copies that are seen in the shops in Thailand are the corperate version which have an OEM number on the back of the CD. This doesn't require the internet authentication. Need software? Get a pen-pal in Thailand.
Some 23.org peeps on Fox 11 in Cali
I saw on tonight's Fox 11 news at 10:00 pm, some of 23.org's members. The segment was about the Anti-Terrorist Hacks on web sites and certain hackers stating that the hacks are not helping our battle against the opponents in our war against terrorism. The segment closed out with a good way certain hackers were helping out, donating blood. This made me curious, especially when the Red Cross just had to get rid of 1/5th of the blood donated due to lack of storage.
Not sure how newsworthy this is but...
I was watching Channel 4 news here in LA and towards the end of the program they discussed how a lot of movies were pulled because of the September 11th attacks. Even though the Spiderman trailer was pulled because of the view of the WTC, the newest Spiderman comic book will directly address the September 11th attacks. Spiderman .36 will be available on stands on Wednesday and has told that it will show the heroes of the day and address those responsible.
