Headlines and other news about other stuff
Well it seems like real life news is catching up with the tech headlines lately, so I feel compelled to list some of it.
Pentagon predicts 11-17 million casualties in first weeks of India-Pakistan nuke war. As if I didn't have enough crap to worry about with terrorists, they want to blow each other up. Cmon, we need to get a friggin Dremmel tool and cut the two countries apart and sit them in their corners. This is giving me a headache that I have to worry about a nuke thing.
FBI warns portable missiles a threat. Yeah, I hate flying already. Now I have to worry about a misslie shooting up my ass because somehow this got into America, and into a terrorists hands. They said flight 800 was an accident. Accident or were they covering up something this whole time. The way it works is that the stinger missles are infrared and will track the airplanes hot engine and kaboom. Yep, real anxious to fly now.
Snips from the "FBI: oops" shitMadsen added that, "it's hard to say in hindsight" whether the Carnivore failure described in the memo destroyed potential early clues to bin Laden's plans for the September 11th terrorist attacks. An FBI spokesman said the incident was a "rare mistake" involving technical problems with the Internet service provider in the investigation, not the software. He declined to comment further. The FBI now calls Carnivore DCS-1000. In a statement, EPIC general counsel David Sobel said the organization is also concerned that Carnivore problems endanger "the privacy of innocent American citizens." Sobel said EPIC wants the FBI to suspend the use of Carnivore "until the questions surrounding it finally can be resolved."
And these are people to protect us....
