Peek-A-Booty goes public
CDC released peek-a-booty at CodeCon conference in San Francisco's DNA Lounge on Sunday. Peek-A-Booty lets users access sites blocked by government restrictions. It uses a peer-to-peer model, masking the identity of each node. So the user can route around censorship that blocks citizens' access to specific IP addresses, because the censor doesn't know they're going there. If you're a Peek-A-Booty node, you might be doing it on their behalf. So the software isn't itself a browser, but simply requires the user to use localhost in the proxy field of their preferred browser. I haven't tried the software yet but when I do I will report it. Driver Licenses will take on new look
Due to the Sept 11 incidents and the drivers license being the most repective for identification, it is being changed to reduce fraud. I find this really funny because anyone who has learned about fake id knows the easiest form to get is the drivers license. So how is this going to protect identity fraud? It just makes the act of printing them on your color laser extinct. Then again, I am not 16 anymore, I think if I need fake id I will really invest my time and money and not try the loser print jobs.
