For the 'No-Duh' story of the week
Napster lays off 30 employees. Thats 30% of it's workforce. I guess if you really think about it in the eyes of a lot of the public, it is like trying to incorperate a thief ring. Its hard making a corperation that does nothing more than illegal activities, but then again, isn't that what Microsoft does?

Lower Manhattan Blue Prints Released
Seen on NY1.com's website, the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation released its first blueprint Tuesday for Downtown?s recovery from the World Trade Center attack. The broad outline envisions a vibrant commercial and residential area with an infrastructure and quality of life even better than before.
They also state that people who currently live in lower manhattan will be eligible for up to $1200 in renter rebates if they commit for 2 years more residency.
I kind of wish it if people would pay me to stay in a certain area, I bet it would be jail.
Drink it now!
A new thing I heard over the weekend. Yes I listen to the news too. I believe I heard the story on CNN Headline News. It is now becomming a regulation for airports check points for you to drink fluids that you are carrying on to a plane. This started at an airport where a young person was carrying a water bottle. The Airport Security people asked the person to drink the water, which happened to be creek water. The person did get sick. This issue is very debatable, I just thought it deserved a mention.
Damn Gators
CNet News.com is reporting on a story about the spyware program gator happening in pop-ups. Lot of software will prompt you about installing Gator, some will not (e.g. PCDJ). Gator is just evil and should be avoided at every chance. The software is not easy to pull off of your computer if you are a beginner. Stay away from saying yes to ok on anything on the web that you are not sure about. A Pop-up prompts you with 'Ok' or 'Cancel', hit 'Cancel'. If you have questions ask your buddy or mail your isp for help.
