The 2MB download includes all the old repairs for Internet Explorer 5.01, 5.5 and 6.0, plus patches for the latest six holes as well. More

Two blows to the belly of Microsoft
Microsoft was denied the shutting down of Lindows.com site. US District Judge Coughenour on Tuesday reiterated his previous decision in a seven-page ruling, saying competitors and dictionary definitions demonstrated that the "consuming public used the terms 'windows,' 'window' and 'windowing' to indicate a general type of user interface." He said the term was generic in the same way that the words "light" in "light beer" and "matchbox" in "matchbox toys" are.
And in other Microsoft pain... Video game publisher Electronic Arts on Wednesday said its franchise "Madden NFL" football series will support the launch of online play for Sony's PlayStation 2 later this year, but will not do so for Microsoft's Xbox.
Don't brag about things you have done, brag about your time
The Deceptive Duo suspects have been raided. We mentioned the media whoring story last week but the FBI executed search warrants against two former online vandals it believes to be the members of the "patriot" hacking group the Deceptive Duo. Agents confiscated computer equipment from Robert Lyttle, who defaced dozens of sites under the moniker Pimpshiz, in California on Monday in connection to the case. The bureau also took equipment from The-Rev, a former member of the hacking group Sm0ked Crew, in Florida on Sunday, said a friend of the two hackers.
I do have a problem that it says "said a friend of the two hackers". That sounds less creditable then the neighbor that says "He was always a nice boy" I have a problem with the article because of the braggin from the first article. Justify the hack by saying you are doing it to save America... oh please. Hack to hack, don't make excuses. More here

Damn Sony, make up your mind but thanks, I will get it soon.
Sony announced that it is lowering the price of the PS2. Pretty good price change.
From CNN Tech:
Sony Corp. said on Monday it cut the U.S. price of its PlayStation 2 game console by one-third and halved the price of its older PlayStation One, a pre-emptive move expected to touch off a round of discounting by rivals.
Effective immediately, the PS2 will cost $199 in the
United States, down from $299, while the first-generation PSX will sell for $49, down from $99. Prices for accessories and extra controllers will also be reduced, Sony said in a statement.
I will finally get to play WWF Smakdown 3, Yea!
MSNBC, you aren't making news, you are making a commentary
MSNBC has a news piece on their site about the prison records online. Well they appear with Social, Name, blah... Here is the article that was posted on MSNBC:
ID thieves mine for gold on jail sites Online public records give Social Security numbers and more By Bob Sullivan MSNBC May 12 - If keeping Social Security numbers off the Internet is a bit like trying to plug holes in a leaky dam, the U.S. justice system has left a floodgate open. Dozens of law enforcement Web pages list names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, heights and weights - everything an identity thief needs to impersonate a victim.
Sometimes there's even a photo. The dossiers belong to prison inmates and wanted criminals; the sites that list them have become user-friendly shopping malls for identity thieves.
Just a Quick note.
Our great friend Julia has left for Austria, I will miss not seeing her when I hit NYC but she needed to get out of the US for a while. I hope she enjoys the trip and I hope to see her very soon. We all love you Julia.
Microsoft lowering the price on Xbox.
I was listening to CNET radio today and they were talking about Microsoft lowering the price of Xbox in North America. They didn't have good sales in Europe but when they lowered the price 50% sales jumped. Sales have been fine here in the US but they decided to lower the proces anyway. Sony says they have no plans for a drop in the PS2.
Better than the child leash, or are they just forgetful
A family in Boca Raton, FL is the first to be implanted with microchips. The microchip is small as a grain of rice and it is installed under a couple of minutes with a shot of local anesthesia. The chips used by the Jacobs family contain only telephone numbers and information about previous medications. The data can be read by a handheld computer and printed out. What ever happened to a simple bracelet or tattoo. I am not putting chips in me that will keep on ticking after I am gone, unless it's that talking Hallmark card. More
