Cable companys going after Wi-fi share people
You know lists like http://www.nycwireless.net. They compile lists of publicly accessable 802.11b access points of people who would like to share. I have never thought this was a good idea for people to share their access, but I am evil. I would probably use it to do no good, so I don't suggest that people do this. Well, I am not happy about cable companies telling these users to cease the sharing. It is a choice between two evils but bandwidth is not a depletable asset. Why do cable companies want to raid people, probably because they plan to have a wireless network of their own. One that costs. Read more here.

Worldcom starts killing off the 17,000 people
The only thing that comes to ming is what is happening to this country. The economy is not getting better. Companies are laying off left and right. We keep worrying about the terrorists. The only funny thing that really comes to mind is that I received an email from a immigrant friend asking me where would be the best place to look for a job if you wanted to work in the US. That one took me by suprise. People have to stop going to computer schools to learn computers. The jobs are getting less. You are just wasting money by learning computers for a career. Try becoming a cop or work in the military, it seems we need more of that. Become a teacher, it's always good to educate people.

California re-vamps it's DMV site
I talked about the California DMV site a couple days or so ago because of states like New Jersey going online with their DMV but there in something cooler now. California now has upgraded, you no longer get to search the Car License Plate database but you get to customize, preview and order your plates online with a credit card. There is only a $1.00 surcharge but if you look at the old fashion way, it would cost you 37 cents anyway. Can't wait till someday I have the license plate:

Yep, another reason to hate Microsoft
Well the people who figured out how to mod the Xbox are in th news. It turns out after they figured how to make chips to mod the box. They decided to put them out in the market. Thats what you'd expect anyway. Well due to the legal presure from those guys at Microsoft, it turns out the mod chip maker has gone under. Fuck you Microsoft, fuck you very much. More here.

I miss you Kim
It has been about a year and I still get upset at the loss of my friend Kim. I worked with Kim at MTV and she was the receptionist. We didn't quite talk much until the MTV summer picnic. It was then she got me to open up and start talking to her and her friend. She was a great listener and friend. She passed away about a year ago and sadly I was unable to attend the funeral and I regret not being able to say good bye to her. I will forever miss Kim.

Job market still stinks
We are half way though the year and the job market even though we were told different, still stinks. In Southern California it seems worse than anywhere else. When I first arrived out in California, I was doing nothing but contract work. It took me from August till January just to find a full time gig. The Moloch Tiger Teaming contracts were not coming in anymore and it's hard to get new clients, when most of the word-of-mouth was in NYC. Well if yo are looking for a job, I would like to wish you good luck and if you are hiring, I might give you free advertising if you get some of my friends work. This unemployment streak has to stop.

Well if there are airports still around this will be cool
Air travellers will be able to download feature films and computer games to a handheld computer using a service to be launched first at US airports this summer. The article doesn't say if it is going to be 802.11b or not but they are talking about mostly PDA systems. We will just have to wait till they come out with it. Doesn't pay to count your chickens before they hatch. Read more here.
